He must have gone I-4. I've *never* had traffic on 417. The few dollars in tolls is well worth it.

Only once I've seen traffic on 417, there was an accident and the ME driver was notified and we got off a few exits early and took a back way to MCO.


We use Alamo's online check in and go right to the car. At spring break this year, with carry on bags we were on the road to Vero Beach 20 minutes after we landed.

Good to know, we have been considering renting a car. Always trying to figure out if it is worth the expense.

Is parking free at the parks if you are staying on property? I think I remember it being so, but just want to confirm that.

We take DME to the resort, then pick up a rental car at the Car Care Center. We book an intermediate with National and have been upgraded to a full size since we are Emerald Aisle members. DH likes to have a car to get to ADR's and to Epcot and DHS. We take DME back to the airport. DH likes the flexability of a car, but not the drive from the airport to the resort.

DH and I always do the same thing. We are Emerald Club also, when we arrive at hotel via ME we ask the front desk to call National and by the time we are checked in the shuttle is ready to take us to the car rental. Since we have car reserved it has never taken us more than 5 minutes to get through car pick up and all of our reservation requests (GPS, carseats) have always been ready to go. The morning of departure we return the car and shuttle returns us to our resort in time to catch the ME back to the airport.

We tried going without a rental but we love to park hop and eat at different hotels and we felt we were wasting to much time on the bus. Hope this helps. I just made my car reservations for my F&W trip in October. It really does cut our stress on the trip.

Yes, just tell CM during check in that you have a car.
