Which will be more crowded August 6-18 or December 13-26? I'm booked for December but I kept second guessing myself. I think my husband is going to put me in the looney bin :rotfl: My concern with December is that is will be cold. Yes, I know it will be warmer than where I live. I just don't want to go there and have it be 30 or 40 out.

August will be more crowded for the bulk of the dates you listed, but the end of your December vacation will be VERY crowded.

It can get cold in December. We learned on our last December vacation that you need to bring a hat/gloves/winter coat, because it can get down into the low 30s/upper 20s at night. The days were mostly pleasant though, and good weather for walking around (not really for swimming or water parks).

I think that you should stick with December for two reasons:

#1 Always a Hurricane possibility during the summer, especially in August & September.

#2 I think crowds will be less during the beginning portion of your December trip. Do everything that is very important to you during the beginning of your trip, and when Christmas Eve arrives just enjoy the ambiance without racing around. I'd bet the entire time of your August trip will be packed. And humid!

But no matter what you decide, at least you'll be in Disney. Have Fun!

VERY crowded was not what we found for our last 2 trips during those dates in Dec. August was much more crowded, and the heat made the crowds more unbearable. I would stick with the December dates. The real crowds don't show up until the 24th or 25th. That is definitely not a time I would go.

I beg to differ.. the crowds will start picking up significantly around December 21/22, with December 23-26 VERY crowded (particularly because the 23rd is a Saturday this year). I agree that the crowds for the week of the 13th would be low though. That's why we're going on December 10, but leaving by the 19th.

Well, that is not what we experienced. We have been 3 times in December. All three trips have started before Christmas. We did not notice the crowds at all until the 25th. Last year we saw a slight increase over the year before on the 24th, but not that bad. Did not compare to August at all.

It has to do with when the weekend is. With Christmas on a Monday, the parks will be packed starting on Saturday, and then Sunday will be almost as bad as Christmas Day itself. The worst, with regard to the parks being crowded before Christmas, is when Christmas is on a Tuesday, but Monday isn't far behind.

Still, if you choose Dec. you will have at least nine days with nice weather, no hurricanes, low humidity and very low crowds. Then for the rest of the trip you can just take it easy and enjoy all of the decorations and atmosphere without rushing to rides.
