I guess it depends on what you really mean by "authentic". We had a thread about Raglan Road some time back where a poster suggested it bore almost no resemblace to a true Irish Pub. Never having been to Ireland I couldn't comment, but Raglan Road is quite similar to several Irish Pub-stlye places I frequent around here. We did Raglan Road last trip and I liked it. And we'll be there again next Monday night!!
Can't help with that other spot as I haven't been there.

I loved Raglan Road, food was good and we were there for the evening entertainment.. I would eat there again in a heartbeat. I did not eat at Cooke's, but I did see it as we were walking. I thought it was a takeaway fish place, maybe it was sit down, but I did not see it. I did see outdoor seating.

I have been to pubs in England and I thought Raglan Road was a bit upscale looking for what I saw in London and Kent. One of these days I will get to Ireland, hopefully those who have been will answer whether they think RR is authentic looking or not.

Cookes is CS and RR is table...
you can get the same fish in chips/scallops etc etc in both places
one comes on a plate the other in a card board box...

Never been to either (but I'm from UK and have made an ADR to RR)

The RR menu is basically British/Irish pub food with a twist, or good restaurant food - however I'm not sure on taste. Good example is the shepherd's pie - I get this all the time at home, and it looks nothing like the photos in RR, they've just put a modern twist on it. It's really good As a Brit, I give the menu a thumbs up and a YUM!

The pub itself looks authentic looking to me - and they sell beer!! My DBF loves his Guinness and not sure if you get that in the USA...

Chips/fish, as in Cooke's is a very British meal, but again never eaten there so not sure of taste. However, we don't have fried candy bars around here where I live and the 'scallops' that are usually in chip shops are scalloped potatoes in deep fried in batter. I probably wouldn't eat here, but that is purely for the fact that I can get chips anytime at home - the offerings do sound better than our local chippy though!!

OMG Its Lynn the Disneyland guru I have been to Ireland several times and I've had a fried candy a time or 2. The Chef is from Ireland and the menu is supposed to be a little upscale like what you'd get in Dublin in Temple Bar or so. Haven't tried it myself we went to Mecca (Disneyland) this year (and where you and the hyhenias were very so helpful). Have a great trip and let us know what you think.

I was just in Ireland, spent 10 days in and around Dublin and can say that yes RR is pretty authentic. It is an upscale pub pretty close to 2 that I visited in Dublin. The main difference is it is much more open, the pubs tend to make the best use of space and are more cramped because of it. The food looks like what we saw in the better restaurants in Dublin with typical pub food mixed in. I took the Guinness factory tour and pouring school while there and we were told that the only two places on earth you can get the beer made in the Dublin brewery is Ireland and WDW in Florida so that is authentic too.

I know the bars both come from Ireland, and they're pretty old and beautiful, and yes, they do serve Guiness and also make a great Black and Tan.

Yup, it is a lot of fun and fairly kid friendly. You work your way down the 5 or 6 floors with the tour, and the pouring school is an option on the 5th I think. Only thing is you have to drink the one you pour at the end . They even give you a lovely certificate, suitable for framing...
