Which is higher-Peter Pan or bottom row of Soarin?

I would have to agree with the posters who say that even the bottom row of Soarin is much higher than Peter Pan. Peter Pan is probably 6 or 7 feet off the ground, Soarin is much higher.

But that is besides the point, even if you were only one foot off the ground you still feel like you are flying through the air for both attractions. Soarin more so than Peter Pan.

My mom is afraid of heights and she loves Soarin, she doesn't not have a severe phobia.

By the way, I don't think you are very high in Peter Pan. I think its only a few feet up (maybe 8 feet or so). I think it just looks higher.

This is correct according to a former Fantasyland CM I spoke with last trip. I commented that the height of Peter Pan made me nervous and she laughed and said it only goes up about 8 feet- as was said before everything looks higher because of 'forced perspective' which is a trick they use in filming movies also.

She said once she was walking around in "london' like Godzilla LOL and it's all very tiny stuff.

Now Soarin'. . .man the idea of breaking down on that scares me. I don't like heights- we rode in the 3rd row the first time and I was fine- I got brave, we went first row second time and I thought about halfway thru that I was going to be sick. I held it together fortunately! (I have issues with motion/balance due to a past stroke though)

This ride is truly beautiful and amazing. But if your'e terrified of heights- or terribly motion sickness prone= skip it. JMHO from experience- I didn't try the ride a third time and I don't know if I'll go on it again but it was a thrilling experience!

Forced perspective is also used other places around Walt Disney World on a much larger scale than Peter Pan. The buildings on Main Street aren't nearly as high as they look and neither is Cinderella Castle. The windows on Main Street and the "bricks" on the Castle get smaller as you go up which fools the mind into thinking they are taller than they actually are. On Main Street only City Hall and the Exposition Hall are full scale. The only reason the Expo Hall is because if it wasn't you'd be able to see the Contemporary Resort from Main Street.
