We may have decided late to go to disney. That being said which resort do you like better and why?

I have never stayed at CSR, but stayed at WL this past November. I have to say that we loved it - the grounds and theming are spectacular. The boat ride to MK is pleasant. We enjoyed it much more than we thought we would. Our only complaint was the QS. We felt it was small. We were in the villas though, so we had meals there because we had a full kitchen. We definitely plan on staying there again. It is nice to be so close to MK, but when you are at the resort you feel secluded. We also found the bus service to the other parks efficient.

I'd pick WL because it's all one building, got great theming, on the lake, close to the MK, and because I prefer the deluxe amenities (including a private balcony).

DH and I really loved CSR, but I would have to give my vote to WL! What an incredibly beautiful resort! I will say that the few times we have been there to just look around or have a meal though, the pool has always been closed. Not sure if it was just coincidence or something that happens often and something to consider if you're expecting to use the pool frequently.

Have a fun trip!

If money was no object, WILDERNESS LODGE! No question! Absolutely breathtaking lodge, great buses (literally 5 mins to MK), boat service, great dining options...

We have stayed at both, and love CSR as well. But if we can afford WL that is our choice! CSR is a moderate with a true deluxe feel.

My choice would be the WL. We've never stayed at CSR, but we love the WL. The WL is a beautiful resort with everything under one roof, it's in close proximity to MK via boat, the pool is great, and Roaring Forks is great for CS meals & snacks. Plus it's convenient for visiting the monorail resorts for a variety of dining options.

That's funny, I just saw this post. We had ressies @ WL and moved to CSR. Some of our friends are staying there and we wanted to be with them. I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake. We've stayed at WL before and loved it! My husband isn't too thrilled that I changed resorts but if our friends are going I'm sure we'll have a great time! Cross our fingers! :goodvibes

We love both resorts.

The landscaping and the room decor at CSR are better as is the counter service, IMO. It's spread out which can be a problem during rainy season.

WL is all in one building and their table service restaurant, Artist Point is wonderful. It's more expensive though.

I would go with whichever is available. The staffs at both are fantastic.

WL, without a doubt.... Biggest mistake of all our resort choices thru the years.... CSR... Will never return....

WL has held our interest the most out of 47 trips with over 10 stays there....just the general area is a plus for us, the boat to the MK, under one roof, theming, off the beaten path, seclusion and remote feeling and on the lakes.... All these drag us in!

Never stayed at CSR, but I can't say a single bad thing about WL! It is simply fantastic! ::yes::

We have stayed at CSR, but ate and swan there. It is very nice. Something you may want to consider is travel time on a bus. If you have young children it could be a hassle. At he WL you have the option of a boat or bus.

If money is not a problem, WL. If things are tight, CSR. We love the WL for the boat to MK and everything under one roof. The balcony is the biggest plus for us.

CSR will do if we are going for a short stay. We like the main pool and the buses are not crowded even though there is 4 stops.

We have stayed at both resorts and love them both! However, I would choose WL over CSR. Why?

1. One building
2. Better restaurants
3. Closer to MK
4. LOVE THE LOBBY!
5. Smaller grounds (you could have a lot of walking at CSR)
6. Nicer bar (not a fan of the one at CSR with the new changes)

Both have hot tubs, great pool slide, nice rooms, beautiful decor and a lot of bus, bus, bus transportation (exception for WL boat to MK).

Good luck in choosing!

My opinion is if money is not the issue WL! I have stayed at both resorts and I really like CSR (my favorite mod!) But it really doesn't compare to that feeling of walking into the lodge and looking at that breathtaking lobby or taking a boat to the MK. Don't let us scare you away from CSR it is a beautiful resort! It is all about what is best for you and your family!

I always find these threads so interesting to see everyone's responses. WL is supposed to be the "better" resort - it is in the deluxe category and is priced higher. It has some amenities that CSR doesn't, like balconies and boat transportation to MK. Being able to book a bunk bed room is nice if you need that. We haven't stayed at WL before and it is pretty low on our list of resorts to try. The lobby is beautiful, but I'm not a fan of the "we're almost camping" room theming - just personal preference. I do love AKL, which was designed by the same architect and has a similar design, but WL just doesn't do it for me.

We have stayed at CSR four times and have had great stays each time. The rooms and particularly the beds are very comfortable, the dining choices are good, and the bus service is wonderful (no sharing with other resorts). If we are planning to spend most of our time in the parks and want a very comfortable room and efficient transportation, CSR is the perfect fit for us - it is a great resort for the price paid. It also has a better pool than WL.

If we are planning a more relaxing stay with time at the resort, we would choose a deluxe, but not WL. The rooms at WL are not much bigger than at CSR, dining options are more limited, and I just don't love the theming of the rooms. We enjoyed AKL very much and would choose that over WL for the same price, but we would rank Boardwalk, Beach Club and Poly over AKL. I don't mind paying for a deluxe room if we are going to have time to enjoy the resort, but for commando trips, CSR is just what we need.

I also can't get excited about the Grand Californian for the Disneyland trip I'm planning (even though it is supposed to be the best resort at DL), so it must be something about the theming that gets me every time. :goodvibes WL has lots of fans, so if you are okay with the theming, you will probably enjoy the resort. Whether it is worth the price difference depends on the type of trip you are taking.
