Trying to deceide as far as food is concerned which has better food - I am familiar with the atmosphere.

Our vote would be 50's. We thought that the food here was actually very good. I really don't remember what we had at Sci Fi but we were not impressed.

I know the reviews for 50s are mixed, but I thought the food at 50s was great! DH and I shared the fried chicken and an appetizer, and it was more than enough--probably one of my best meals of our last trip.
I'm with dnbent: I don't remember what I had at sci-fi, so it must not have been too great.

Having been to both numerous times, I think 50's Prime Time is better. Both places serve mediocre food, it's the atmosphere we go for.

Been to each 3 times. My vote would be for 50's, but my DD11 would be for Sci-fi. Did you view the menus to see which was more appealing to you and your party.

For both atmosphere and food, my DH, DD (2.5 at the time) and me all agree...50s!!!!! We weren't thrilled with Sci Fi. We loved the food at 50s, I had the meatloaf, hubby had the fried chicken. I had the smores dessert, which was awesome. Very funny waiter. Great time.

Definitely 50's Prime Time Cafe!!! The worst meal we ever had was at Sci-Fi - similar to swill (I've never tasted swill, but you know what I mean!!)

Both have great atmosphere, but the food at Sci-fi is subpar. The 50s prime time is great! Oh if I could only have that brownie desert right now...ummm brownie.

I'll go against the norm here and go with the Sci Fi. We don't care for the food at 50's, but love the atmosphere. Both are really good, but I'd go with Sci Fi.

We've been to both and like the food at both but I really think I enjoyed Sci-Fi more. We've never gotten out of 50's in under 90 minutes and for me that is just too long to sit in a restaurant when I could be out riding rides!
Sci-Fi was very cool and we were in and out in about 45 minutes. Long enough to rest and cool off but not so long as to wonder if our waiter was out moonlighting at another job!
Some people like slow "relaxed" service and that's great. Just not for me when I'm at WDW!

Another vote for Sci Fi :thumbsup2 ! It's a must do every trip, last year I got the ribs and really liked them although most say just stick to the burgers if you go. I think the menu at 50's is quite boring, but I get it that it is supposed to be ;) .

We have only been to 50's - 3 times. We had 2 great meals but last time after waiting 45 mins to be seated we had a poor experience - no interaction and an extremely rushed meal with entrees arriving just as we had begun eating the starters. I think we were outside from being seated in 25 minutes and that was 3 courses!

Have to say we enjoy the food.

Hands down....the 50s Prime Time here also...

or last meal there was delish....popcorn::

Esmerelda :)

I agree. I don't think the food at either is all that good, but I give a very slight edge to Sci Fi for atmosphere.

50s is a must for us each trip - we LOVE the food. Roast beef and the Meatloaf are yummy. Sci Fi we have done twice - neither time impressed with the food.

I would vote for The Prime Time. We ate at both places last week. The Sci Fi was awful. Maybe one of the worst meals of my life. The Prime TIme was average, not great, but not bad either. The milkshake was really good though.
