I am new to running (actually I'm more of a walk/jog person) and was at my local foot store today. They had Balega hidden comfort socks. They were really nice. Is there another sock out there that's better? What do you use?

i'm not real brand specific, I ordered some through NBWebexpress when i got shoes and i like the NB ones. do you like thick or thin? When i was having trouble blistering I got a really nice pair with wool, sounds weird I know, but wool is supposed to be really good. those socks were $15 a pair! but they are wonderful

I like thicker socks - they just seem more comfortable to me. I had heartache over $10 a pair since I'll need several and then would want to get them for my daughter (DD13 runs with me) too. I guess in the scope of things, it's not that bad, but this is all new to me and I'm having sticker shock.

I'm a big fan of Sock Guy socks, but really, you may have to go through a couple different manufacturers or styles until you find one that feels just right.

Mine run about $10 a pair as well, but I haven't had to buy running socks in well over a year. A couple pairs are finally hitting the point where I need to replace them, but IME, a pair of running socks is good for 50-60 runs, if not more.

I've had a lot of success with the 'Balega Hidden Comfort' socks. They cost b/t $9.00-12.00 (US). They're really smooth, light, and are great at wicking up moisture. :)
