Which hotels are the "Official" Universal hotels for getting in early to the park?
We will be staying at the Double tree by Hilton at the Entrance to US.
Going in March!! :)

The DoubleTree is a partner hotel and can get you in. You may or may not have to purchase the "Universal Package" for it to work, so check in advance.

I'm not sure I have much choice. We will be staying there with our showchoir as they have a competition there on Saturday...

The official Universal hotels ..Royal Pacific,Portofino Bay and Hard rock all have early entry privelages. Some of the partner Hotels do, but some require the purchase of a Harry Potter vacation pkg.You might want to check to see if your specific pkg entitles you to early entry

Yeah, I know all the three Universal Onsite Hotels have Early Park Admission, and I think that you have to book a Universal Orlando Vacation Package to get it, and I recommend that. If you have any question you could always call them.

If you purchased your stay through Universal with your tickets at the same time, you will get early entry. You can't book a normal night's stay at any of the partner hotels through their website or reservation system and get early entry.

I didn't purchase any of the tickets...I am going as a chaperon with a showchoir that is attending a FAME competition on Saturday March 10. I know we are getting tickets into the park but i do not know what kind of package it is....

contact the coordinator of the FAME competition and ask what comes with the package they have booked.

the coordinator should be able to let you know what type of 'package' or set up they have worked out with Universal.
they would have the details and agenda set up March 10th.

from what you stated, it sounds like the tickets to the park are free for your group.
maybe your group will also be receiving food vouchers?

since you are going with a competition group, none of us here would have a clue what is included in your deal.

good luck in the competition.
hope your group wins!!

We booked our package with US website. Because our tickets didn't specifically say Early Entry on them, I checked with the guest service desk at the Holiday Inn (in charge of tickets to US there). They weren't sure and couldn't tell if I had it or not. Then I noticed a letter code on the bottom of the tickets. They explained it meant I had purchase the tickets through US website. I figured the US staff would know that I was entitled to early entry. Indeed, every morning to allow us in the park early, they checked the ticket code.

Okay...I'm a little confused now. We do get early admission entry if we booked a hotel night at the Hard Rock, right? I already have my park tickets.

HArd Rock is a Universal resort so yes.Early Entry is only for WWoHP though.

i really do.

Universal has different events/competitions in their park frequently.
it's good business the way i see it.

i have had others tell me a coordinator works with an official w/ UO for certain perks for their groups.
surely, there will be some perks for the competitors and chaperones when you are scheduled to be there.

it would be nice if your group would get food vouchers or something that is needed to help defray the costs they will have in attending this competition.

bottles of water, food, etc can add up for the group.

The portofino did last year; possibly this year unless policy changed. I'd stay there because it is really just a boatride away on the other side of a river/stream.
