We'll be in WDW June 10-24. Which Disney/Orlando guides do you recommend, esp. for first-timers like us? Birnbaums seems the most obvious -- any others out there that you've used and really liked?

Thanks! :)

Hi & welcome! The Unofficial Guide & Passporter are both great resources. Many members here swear by the UG (Unofficial Guide). It's really big & has lots of info. I usually buy both - I have the deluxe Passporter & just buy the refill for it. Passporter has good info - I esp like the color maps & the pages in the back that are also pockets. There's a pocket page for each day of your trip & you can write down all your travel info on them. Both books have a website -check them out if you can. Happy planning!

I definitely recommend the Unoffical Guide. I use it all the time, for all kinds of info.

Hey cool! I've seen the Passporter on the shelf in the bookstore, but never picked it up. I need this book!! :)

I have Unofficial Guide, Passporter and this time I'm trying Tour Guide Mike because of the crowds. I'm going for spring break. My last few trips have been during the fall and I've become spoiled by low crowds.

We used Passporter and the Unofficial Guide for our last trip. I bought every guide I could find, but those two were the most useful, by far, and they compliment each other very well.

I bought birnbaums it hasn't changed much since my parents bought it in 1985 good info but not much negative or constructive criticism since it is "OFFICIAL" I like these boards but if you must have one I guess birnbaums is ok

Another TGM fan here. Although this will be my first trip using him, I really enjoy the website and all the information. You can also use Steve Soares website for weekly information concerning live entertainment(shows and character meet and greets).

Another vote for pass porter! It's not just a guide book but it's also a keepsake, diary, receipt holder, reservation # storer (is that a word), information source.... you name it. We wouldn't think of going with out it!:thumbsup2

PassPorter!!! I have a couple of them, and I've started buying them for friends and family members.

Those seem to be the highest rated among all you "in the know" types, :goodvibes

Tour Guide Mike is a new one to me. I've tried logging onto the site but can't get in...?

There is another thread about TGM's server being down. It should be back up in a couple of hours. Check back then.:goodvibes
