Back in 2000 we got AP's and bought Birnbaums and one other guide and really learned a lot!

Now I'd like to buy another guide (updated attractions, attendance info, park tips & strategies etc).

Which one do people recommend? I think there were at least 4 at our local bookstore.

I always find the Unofficial Guide to be the best...I've bought one every year for the last 5 and they are always great. :wave2:

I've always found the Unofficial too cynical and too commando. If I had only one to get, I'd get Passporter.

If you have any children be sure to get them Burnbaums (spelling?) for kids. I got the 2006 version for my daughter and she loves it.

Birnbaum's. We buy one every other year. It has the latest info since it is the Official WDW guide.

My favorite is the Perlmutter's WDW for Couples. It's really comprehensive.
Even if all you can find is an older edition, it is great! It's good if you have
kids too.

I like the Birnbaum ones too. If you do a search on allears.net you can find the site for Aronda Parks. They put out a pretty good book too and for a few extra dollars you can get a little prep pad.

Birnbaums without a doubt. It's the best one I've come across in both the UK and US.

Birnbaum's and UG - I keep one in my car for when I have a few minutes to kill waiting for my DS to get done with school or practice.

Here are the books I bought at Amazon for 2006 trip.

1) Fodor's Walt Disney World® with Kids 2006 (very good book; outsider version)
2) The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, 2006 (very good book; outsider version)
3) Birnbaum's Walt Disney World for Kids by Kids! 2006 (good book for kids; Disney version)
4) Birnbaum's Walt Disney World 2006 (good book; Disney version)
5) Birnbaum's Walt Disney World Dining Guide 2006 (average pocket book; Disney version)

Unofficial Guide without a doubt. Has saved me alot of time, we don't wait on lines anymore. Like the hotel and restaurant info alot, it seems candid wjich I appreciate. They also have a sense of humor, which I find is essential.

UnOfficial Guide and PassPorter are the only books I buy now. After many trips they are the ones that I find have the best and most up to date info. Yes, the UG is big, cynical, and very commando....but, I take what I want/need and leave the rest behind. It does give a very realistic look at what you can expect when you get to WDW. And heaven knows...you need that while you're in the planning stages.

Ditto. :goodvibes

I just came back from WDW and the Passporter was well worth the investment, I am so glad I bought it. The planner style was very handy.
