The people whining about wheelchair users getting boarded first or use of GACs drive me mad:mad:. If you want the privileges have the disability rather than show your own stupidity.

This thread is a hoot. I can't believe it actually stayed fun and not one person put down another for a whole 14 pages! Kudos to you all! I really enjoyed reading it, but I didn't vote. It is way too hard to pick just one. There are a lot of strong willed people on this site. Which to me is kind of amusing and fun, but I do feel bad for the newbie who gets attacked for an innocent question. LOL

I voted other: Not buying a ticket for your 3 year old or a child's ticket for your 10 year old.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but Brazilian tour groups and savings chairs at the waterparks are two other topics that rile the masses.

To use or not to use the child tethers/harness or leashes. (Depending on your position.)

I must be in a cave, but when do those notorious Brazilian groups make their appearance at WDW? That is about the 3rd or 4th time that has been mentioned as a hot topic. Why is it so controversial? Why are they any different then other large tour groups?

Regarding the child "leashes" (as some refer to them as). I am all for them. My DS is too old now, but we did use it he was two. For those who have young ones you know that no matter how attentive you are they could be gone in a blink of an eye if you turn your head for just a second. Plus, I did not want to keep him in his stroller ALL DAY. I was too afraid he would take off and with that many people it can be harder for an adult to move as quick as a toddler through those crowds...especially in line for a ride.

I second that!

It is a hoot. It is like a venting thread without anyone putting down one another....it is all in fun! I hope it stays that way! ;)

There were some at WDW last week. They were large groups some loud. The group that got to me were a group of about 15 girls. My husband, my 22 mo. old grandson in a stroller and I were standing across the walkway from EE. We were standing pretty close together near the bushes. These girls walked between us actually bumping into us and sat on the ground between our feet. I couldn't believe. They acted like we weren't there! One actually had her feet stretched out one between my legs and the other under the stroller. I really can't describe how they encroached upon us! and then they were talking very loud on top of it with the baby sleeping inches away don 't forget they were sitting on the ground and basically were level with his head. WEll needless to say it didn't last long we moved on.

When YOMD was going on, we had quite a few heated threads about why certain people won stuff and others didn't.

Also, the threads dealing with compensation get pretty nasty. For example, there was a thread about someone's kid getting his/her sneaker stuck and chewed up by the escalator(foot was fine). Disney gave a voucher for a pair of shoes, I forget the amount. The parent thought that the amount of the voucher wasn't enough. If ever a thread deserved a popcorn:: , it was that one!:lmao:

Threads dealing with whether Deluxe resorts are worth it.

Couple of really nasty threads dealing with the skywriting guy(before religious topics were off limits).

whats the story with the mugs? please elaborate the issue.

refillable mugs are sold at WDW resorts for 13.49. They are sold for the length of stay at the resort you are staying at. All mugs are the same no matter which resort you are staying in. That is how they are sold now.

When they first came out in the 1990s, they were sold as a resort specific mug and it was stated they were good forever for that particular resort. We used our CBR mugs a few times in the early 2000s.

THe issue is that now people bring them back on subsequent trips.

why is that bad?

why is that bad?

Some like to use the cup on the next visit (sometimes they go when the cup is still the same) Some still use those cups sold as 'forever' at that resort (these I believe should actually be allowed with no issue since they were sold that way) Some use mugs from other resorts or just old ones.

It seems that there are strong views on this subject on the boards and the threads always end up with the differences going back and forth. Some say it's stealing, some say its ok, some say why not just bring any old mug. It just always seems to be a touchy subject. etc. etc. etc.

how often do they chnage the mugs? does not seem like they have changed in quite some time

how often do they chnage the mugs? does not seem like they have changed in quite some time

We were there in May 2009 and we had a mug similar to the one they are selling now. Ours had a white bottom with the characters and red background. Now the mugs are all red with characters. They usually change them about every year. They will continue to use up old stock and Jan is not necessarily the change time. During 2007 they had the date on them (2007) and were blue and white. The next year, since the theme was kept, the cup stayed the same without any year on it. 2003 and before (1995 for sure) definately had the resort specific mugs, I have them all!. I wasn't there from Aug 2003 to Sept 2007.

That is the Whole point of this thread Larry! People get bent out of shape about other peoples opinions or ideals! You would be wise to save many of the people on this thread as friends as they get it! If all of us were at Disney together we would have a GREAT time as we understand we all are different... but all share the LOVE of Disney Family and friends!:goodvibes

I'm sorry if this was mentioned. I voted "other" for people holding onto and using fastpasses after the return window. I know a lot of people do it (guilty) but those that don't like it are passionate about it.

I also just remembered the thread where someone mentioned drinking around the World at Epcot and good gosh some people in that thread got really personal. Calling the OP a drunk or an alchie and people were getting angry about all those times they saw really really drunk people around Epcot and how they thought it was so outrageous.

Hmm... if that's the thread I remember - recent, right? - the issue wasn't drinking around the world. Plenty of people do that. It was drinking around the world, going out drinking that night, and then drinking again the next morning to "cure" the hangover the original poster planned.

Right! I think it was the "hair of the dog" thing that got some people going on that one!

I voted 'other', and I haven't read all the other posts yet, but I would say that people who post questions about ECV use, obesity, other disabilities in a less than polite way usually take heat pretty quickly. Also, I've seen a few hot ones about gay days.
