I feel bad when I see that happen as well. It makes me wonder why people can't just simply answer the question: "Yes and here's why" or "No and here's why not" and let that be the end of it. Instead people have to get personal with it and inject their personal views, opinions, preferences and rules into the reply.
When I first joined here I waited a long time before posting because I was afraid someone was going to crucify me for saying the wrong thing or asking a stupid question.

I have a question about tipping mousekeeping, and I want answers from people who do it. BUT, I am totally scared to ask because I don't want people to be ugly! And now I just read in this thread that you can only post about tipping in the one tipping thread. My question is from reading that thread, and I think it would be more helpful if it was not mixed in with all the other stuff. Oh, well.
