Which Fall Discount was better - room only or package?

Which recent discount was better for the Oct,Nov,Dec timeframe - the room only discount or the package discount? (talking about General Public Discounts). My trip isn't until Jan, but if discounts are similar.....

I priced out both and the package came out the winner for me. DD and I are staying 3 nights starting 11/4 at POP. The package gives me 1 day tix for both of us (she's a Disney Adult) and the total was $302. The same dates for room only, no tix, came to $300.

The package WOULD have been better for me, but there we NO ROOMS available at the Poly or ANY of the monorail resorts for my time frame.

Package - 11/18 - 11/25 @ Poly GV with 5-8 day park hoppers - $3470
Room only - same everything including buying tickets - $3726

I thought the package was the better deal when I crunched the numbers.
