Which DVC should we settle on for our honeymoon?

That is my pick too but I would do SSR first ( because they are going to be exhausted) and then BWV:) Enjoy you can't go wrong wherever you pick! :tink: :tink: :tink:

Is there anyone that you trust who can take your dress and wedding presents like one of your parents? Is so get rid of it all and have Disney store the cake if you must! I was careful about my cake too but wouldn't even eat it on our anniversary....freezerburn happens after a year LOL!

I always tell people to pick the resort that best matches their personalities and interests. You can't go wrong, it's better then trying something and not feeling comfortable.

OKW or SSR? Who ever heard of a honeymoon without room service.....Recommend BWV/BCV or WLV.

I vote beach club..it is near everything, you can use stormalong bay AND if you want the boardwalk stuff you can use that too, just a short walk or boatride away. The BCV will have several options for getting to and from places. We spent our 10th anniversary there..LOVED it. We are buying OKW right now, but we chose that based on cheaper points.
I think the only thing BWV could have over BCV is maybe views.
I can't comment on WL, but that wouldn't thrill me as much..too dark for me.

First choice - VWL - totally romantic.
Second choice - BWV - I'd request the BW view and make sure you mention it is your honeymoon to better your chances of getting the BW view if you have to waitlist for it.

Congrats and best wishes!

Ahhh! Tough choice. I tried putting myself in your place, and I drove myself crazy trying to decide!!!!

I'm in the group that hates to move around during vacation especially if I had a ton of wedding stuff to move.

The OKW 1-bedroom is my ultimate favorite for the SPACE and relaxation. It great for the relaxing vacation, kind of a beach (w/o the beach lol) house vacation where I get to play house.

BUT for a romantic honeymoon, I would lean toward BWV, for the easy access to romantic walks to see the firewalks, and a short walk to restaurants, etc.

If I had stayed at OKW for our honeymoon, we would NEVER have left our room. Not because of "what you think," but because we were so wiped out after the wedding that all we wanted to do was sleep and were too lazy to go anywhere that wasn't right outside our door. So, for US, it would have been better to choose somewhere that had activities right downstairs like BWV.

If I had the MEGA points to burn, ideally I would keep the OKW 1-bedroom for the entire 2 weeks AND get a BWV studio just for weekend getaway!!! Sick, right? :rolleyes1

GODD LUCK with your decision!!!
LOL! I like this suggestion! :thumbsup2

my vote:
split stay:
SSR (relaxing & romantic, and just a short boatride to fun), then BWV

2 weeks at one resort:
BWV hands-down

just DH & i are going in aug (1st vacation sans kidlets in over 20 years  ) ~ played with dates, room size, car/no car, DP, ADRs, etc ~ the only non-negotiable was BWV with BW view.

Since the BW view is a direct booking, mentioning the honeymoon will make no difference. It's first come first served.

But if the BW views are already all booked they can still get on a waitlist for it and just book the regular preferred view, yes?

Correct. But I believe the waitlist is also first come, first served, so mentioning their honeymoon won't increase their chances of getting the BW waitlist any quicker. Although, it might possibly help get them extra attention during their stay.

We sure did. We decided to go ahead and stay at OKW the whole time in a 1 bedroom. We loooooooove OKW since its quiet and has large rooms and this way I don't have to lug my dress, cake, his tux, luggage, left over favors, or any of that junk. We can just throw our stuff down, get settled, and live for 2 weeks. We are really looking forward to it

Also, we now have enough points left over to put my parents in a 1 bedroom for 5 nights since they've contributed a large chunk of change to the nuptials. As well as a studio for my grandpa and a studio for his mom and brother for 2 nights. :thumbsup2

Excellent choices especially the sharing with family - that's what it is all about. Hope you have fun planning and a truly magical wedding and honeymoon.

Congrats !!! Have a great honeymoon. Nice to have points for the family but I wouldn't want them with me on my honeymoon :rolleyes1 LOL

:jumping1: :dance3:

Thanks! My family is pretty great and I know they'll keep their distance. Knowing how much they love Disney they won't want a thing to do with us as they'll be running off to get to the parks :thumbsup2

I've been trying to talk my sis and BIL into it, but I guess I'll just have to wait until they experience the magic with us first hand this August. It would be great if we both owned points because we could combine them for larger rooms and longer stays :thumbsup2
