What is your favorite DVC resort for peace and quiet? Even though we will go to the parks, we would like to be able to head back to my retreat from all the crowds if we want to. I have not stayed in any of them yet, being that I just purchased SSR last week.

we also purchased at SSR and although it is not close to the parks (just downtown disney), that is EXACTLY why my hubby liked SSR. You can "get away from it all there", it is very quiet, at least in April and just last week when we were there for 2 days.

We left from there to go on the Magic Cruise and by the end of the cruise we were both ready for some peace and quiet. The only place to do that on the cruise, unfortunately, is in your cabin, and even there you will get kids or teenagers running through the hallways. Cruise was fabulous, don't get me wrong, but it can get extremely LOUD.

I think we will really like it at SSR a lot. Go to the parks when you want and them come back to a little bit of serenity when you want as well.

I didn't vote - To me, rest and relaxation is a state of mind, not a resort. You can do both at any of the DVC resorts. There are areas at all the DVC resorts that are peaceful and quiet.

Best wishes -

I voted for OKW. I haven't stayed at SSR, so I can't comment on it's quietness. But I have always loved OKW for when it is time to kick back. I love sitting on the balcony and watching the ducks and the golfers, seems peaceful. And the landscaping, it is so Florida. :cloud9:

I'll chime in with a vote for VWL. The Villas are secluded, on the lakefront (although not with a terrific view of the lake, rather through the trees) and it's just lovely. It always feels cool and quiet - the secluded pool is never busy, and there are areas to realx on the lakefront, down by the area where the Mouseboats are rented. It's just a lovely little spot!!! It will be my next DVC purchase!!!!

Mine was another vote for VWL. I feel more relaxed there, and can find nooks and crannies to curl up with a book or stroll in the woods or gaze at the lakeviews from different areas of the resort.

Bobbi :)

I also voted for VWL. There's just something about the Lodge that makes me instantly relax! OKW would be a close second for me, though.

OKW first, then VWL. I haven't been to SSR so I can't comment on it.

I voted for OKW. It really depends on how many are going and what size unit you will be getting. OKW 1 and 2BR are very large compared to all the other on site resorts. If it's just 2 of you, and in a studio, any one will work, I would pick VWL, BCV, SSR, BWV then OKW for studios. In a 1 BR with 2, all are GREAT. And you will have a difficult time getting a majority to pick any one.

If you have Kids along, BCV will give you access to the Storm Along Bay pool.

All DVCs are relaxing, each has it's own charm.

You will have a great trip no matter where you pick.

Having stayed at all three, I would say the three top vote getters so far are right on! I would rate those three as OKW most relaxing followed by VWL and then SSR. SSR could be up there a bit more if it didn't feel so urban.

Ok - first most relaxing is okw - it is v spread out and quiet, second is ssr - tho the spa makes it even more relaxing - third is vwl - the theming is v relaxing but a lot of visitors go there to the restaurants etc, making the main building more busy.

BWV and BCV - haven't stayed, only in BC hotel - it is relaxing in some ways despite it's business, and proximity to epcot. The pool area is nice and relaxing, despite being v busy, because waiters come to your pool chair and bring your drink orders for you.

It just goes to show that the term "relaxing" can be SOOO different for many.

Personally, I find BCV the most "relaxing" (in addition to being my favorite). The sound of all the waterfalls at SAB, along with being able to run your toes thru the sand either at SAB or on the beach of Cresent Lake is super relaxing to me!!

I love the luxuriousness of the lobby, and the way I feel pampered just when I walk in (especially if I get a salute from Art). I love the way the bellmen run to your car when you pull up....somehow, it immediately lowers my blood pressure!! I'm going to have to try the spa at BCV sometime...I hear the massages are wonderful...that would be relaxing as well.

I love being able to take a leisurely walk to Epcot for a fine dining experience. I also love just hanging out in the Solarium....the turn-of-the-century elegance relaxes me.

And, there is nothing more relaxing than enjoying a glass of wine on the shores of Crescent lake while watched Illuminations overhead, as the boats go by....it is REALLY cool!!!

My second place would have to be VWL.

I think because I am not a big fan of OKW or SSR, they don't "relax" me very much. I think whatever makes you happy can be very relaxing to you...it would definitely be BCV or VWL for me.

Based on the avalible choices--I picked OKW.
However--IMHO, Vero Beach truely owns the title!

I voted for OKW but I would have to say VWL would be a close second. Just being at any of the DVC resorts is relaxing for me, depends on who and how many are with us. If is is just DH and I you could put us in any one of the resorts and we would be happy.

OKW without a doubt. We havent's been to SSR yet, so cannot comment on that!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vero Beach. Nothing but sun, sand, surf and pool. Of course warm weather would be great to max out on all. :sunny:
