When I do the scrapbook for the first portion of our trip, I am going to duplicate some of the pages and make an album for my sister, who was with us for those 5 days. She is not a scrapper.

I can't decide whether to include journaling or leave empty journal boxes for her to complete herself. I'm torn between telling the story 100% from my perspective, or having a combination of my photos and scrapping style with her words.

Which you do you think would be better, with journaling or without?

Is this going to be a surprise gift or not? If not ask her what she would perfer- she may or may not ever get around to journalling if you just leave her the spaces. If it a surprise I would do a combination. Journal some of the events and happenings but leave room for her (or her children) to add their thoughts and feelings about what was happening.

Ditto what rlovesw said. :goodvibes

that's really nice of you kim! :goodvibes how thoughtful!

I came up with a solution after reading your responses. This is going to be a surprise (a Christmas present, actually). I've decided to journal it, but I'm going to cut tags and put them behind the photos so she can do her own hidden journaling if she wants to, and if not, then the page is complete even without it.

Thanks for the thoughts!

Kim - what a nice idea - bet she'll love it too! As others have suggested, I'd do the journaling. Once gave my sister a scrapbook ready with lo's of her new granddaughter - 1 yr ago - and she has yet to put pix in!!! If a person isn't into scrapping, it's better to do as much as possible to help them along.
Ok, in the pix of you all at the breakfast, are you the one with the short hair or the long hair? My bet is short hair!!
