If you have been to both WDW and DL which one do you prefer and why do you prefer it?

Of the two I prefer WDW because:

* 4 parks instead of 2
* closer and cheaper to get to from where we live
* our DVC home is here atBoardwalk

Having said that I love Disneyland and we try and get out there every couple of years. It is Walt's original park and has a very special feel to it.

So East Coast or West Coast I don't think you can go wrong!

Both certainly have their merits...

Short, cheap vacation (2-3 days) I'd go with DL. Compact size, only 2 parks. Don't have to pay as much to stay at a DL property (motels on Harbour Ave. are just fine, never there anyway). CA is a great park for adults, love the wine tasting. Animation building is stunning. MK park is the original. Indiana Jones ride is amazing (better than Dinosaur at AK IMO).

Longer vacation, bit more money to spend, definitely WDW. So much to do and chose from, huge selection of great restaurants, 4 theme parks, plus Pleasure Island, plus water parks, and completely surrounded by Disney 24 hours a day.

WDW - more to do.
Love Disneyland however! And have to agree that the Indiana Jones ride is fabulous!

I like them both about equally WHEN DL is fully operational. I realize that it's only two parks but California is so utterly fun that it doesn't matter to me. Florida just isn't the same IMO.

Of course, WDW is better one on one because of size.

I haven't been to CA Adventure, but it is really hard to compare the two. I prefer WDW, although Disneyland is unique. Some of the same attractions in DL are just a touch more elaborate and magical thanks to Walt's touch.

So totally different. Until a few years back, DL would only be able to be compared to MK. And then again, both different, unique. DL is more quaint, MK, more sprawling. DL's PoC, Small World, Indiana Jones (as to Dino) all MUCH better, IMO. Fantasmic! I would say is better too. Lots of little streets and alleys to explore.

DCA was recently opened when I went, but unique also.

They're both great fun, but I prefer WDW. More parks, more hotels, more dining choices, more options. Plus, if you stay at a WDW hotel, you can leave the "real world" behind totally.

I prefer WDW as well but as said, there is something really special about being in the park that Walt had his personal touch on. And some things there, like the Pirates of the Caribbean and Its a Small World are in a completely different league than what is at WDW.

However, I usually go back to WDW because I love the whole immersion away from "reality" it gives me. And the Adventurers Club!

I like Disneyland better than the Magic Kingdom, but as a whole I like WDW better. I like the fact that it's its own little city, and that there is so much to see and do. Disneyland is right smack in the middle of the city, surrounded by traffic on all sides. But it does have some things that MK doesn't have, and like someone said before some of the things both parks have are much better at DL.

I feel like I need to see Disney Land at least once but I absolutely LOVE WDW.
