Except kids stay & play since DD is only 2 and gets everything for free anyways. Though if that were to come, I might just change her age to 3 (she'll be 2 months away) so that I can put her on the dining plan with us.

What exactly is included in the free dining?

I would love a AP discount of 35-42% off mods and deluxe in August. We have FD booked for May and would like to do a summer trip the first week in August. We have always gone late August, but we will already be in FL for a family reunion early August.

Holding out hope for Free Dining for late November. We've had it the last few trips, and now I'm spoiled.

I'm hoping they will call me up and offer me a free stay at the Boardwalk with DDP included. Since that doesn't seem very likely, I'll hope for free dining this fall during the Food and Wine Festival. We've had it the past few years and loved it!

What exactly is included in the free dining?

The basic dining plan includes 1 snack, 1 counter service meal & 1 table service meal for each day/each person during your magic your way package. It would be nice because I think you can then pay to "upgrade" if you wish to go deluxe, wine/dine, etc or upgrade a child to an adult...which is what I would consider doing if got the dining plan free. After perusing a hundred menus, the children's menus are abyssmal. My DD7 would weary of chicken fingers, hot dogs, hamburgers, mac 'n cheese after 1 day. She's a very good eater, makes good choices and usually NOT off the children's menu, which, to me, is riddled with processed, sodium filled poor choices. Sometimes she just wants a Ckn Caesar salad or soup and salad, etc. I know...but that's what you get. It can be quite a bargain when getting it for free. Somehow, though, I think a larger room discount offers a better discount. JMO.

A BIG ONE!

But since our trip is only 6 weeks away, I'm pretty sure we won't be getting it! One time at Pop we paid $55/night. I'd take that one again!

We have the GP "book early and save" discount. I don't remember what the % was, but it just doesn't seem that great. I had a deluxe booked (so a bigger discount %) but spending 2k on a hotel room bothered me so much I had to cancel. The last 2 years we had free dining which saved us about about $1k without requiring us to spend a lot of money. I think FD is a great deal for our family.
