We are a family of 5 - me, dh, ds11, dd6 & dd4 and we leave in 26 days for our third stay at the YC. We love the location - as you mentioned walk to Epcot, walk or boat to MGM, walk to the boardwalk and you can even walk to Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf (its a bit of a hike past the Swan/Dolphin - but we did it last time when dd's were 4 & 2). Transortation to MK and AK was a quick bus ride away, we do go in off season though and the busses were not too crowded. My family loves Stormalong Bay - but again we go in November/December when not everybody wants to swim. We were able to see Illuminations from our balcony which was a lagoon view on the 4th floor our previous two times. You can also see Illuminations from the beach or from the bridge near the Boardwalk.
For a quick breakfast there is the Beach Club Market Place or the Boardwalk Bakery. Cape May Cafe and The YC Galley have excellent breakfast buffets too. For quick lunches there is Beaches and Cream or Hurricane Hannas.
Anyway - you can't go wrong with a Disney Deluxe!
Have a great trip!
Cheers-
~Luthien
