We will be in SoCal Sat for a week long trip staying at Marriott's Newport Coast. When I booked this week I forgot that Monday was a school holiday!:scared1: and until the other day didn't even know that 1/2 of Utah and most of Arizona will be out of school and possibly at the parks.
The only planned day so far is Tuesday the 13th...we have tickets to the Ellen show!!!
I need to figure out what day we will do Disney. One day for us and two for the girls, age 19 and 18.
Ok, all you SoCal experts....do you think Sunday the 11th will be too crowded for the 4 of us and then Wed for the girls? The 3 of us were just there in May for 3 full days at the park and got burnt out somewhat, but the 18 yr has never been.
Don't want the girls to go on Friday because we have a long drive home the next day.
PLEASE, I need suggestions....

Not sure how your week goes, but does that leave just wed and thurs left? We always go in the summer and have found that getting there early at least a little before opening, and good use of FPs helps the most in getting to see things during a crowded time. If you do go on Sunday, again, getting there early will help the most. Even on the most crowded of days, first thing in the morning is very nice.

I think that Tuesday and Wednesday will be the slowest days, then Thursday. Monday, Friday and Saturday will most likely be quite crowded.

We will be there Wed/Thurs/Fri. I'm planning on spending all of Friday in DCA to avoid some of the rush and expecting crowds Thursday.

It looks like we could get some considerable rain next week on Tues/Weds. I didn't think this storm would drop so far south, but the latest models are showing that it's dropping further south. I'll bet the local news channels start talking about this tomorrow. Rain days can be the best days to go. Crowds are minimal.

hadn't thought about rain....:scared1: I have never done DL in the rain...but many times at WDW....true about less crowds....
we drive down Sat....
don't really want to go on Sunday...crowds...Monday is a holiday...crowds!!!

Tuesday we are doing the Ellen show...

don't want to do Friday either because we drive back Sat and it will be too hard to get up....
So it might be Wed and Thurs????
I need to double check holidays before we book again....;)
Thanks for all the answeres...I will also check out the weather website for next week....

The National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration is starting to show the rain event:

NOAA

They are usually more accurate than weather.com (which is showing partly cloudy for the timeframe).

Thanks for the rain update. I had checked with the weather channel but saw just partly cloudy...off I go to get the ponchos and the umbrella. :goodvibes

Rainy days at Disneyland are rarely busy. Take a poncho and go. Just keep in mind some of the outdoors entertainment (parades and fireworks) might be cancelled though.

And for some reason, alot of tourists think that DL completely closes down when it rains. There have been a couple of times I've come back from a rainy day at Disney to find entire disappointed families hanging around the hotel because they thought the parks were closed. And many locals will simply plan to come back on another day.

We are in Newport Coast now and it is overcast...but it almost always is here at the coast...
Girls are thinking Wed and Thurs...adults just Wed...still not decided but will watch the weather...thanks for the links....
can't wait to see all the changes to the rides for halloween
