Which day would be best to try to get RSR FP?

We will be at DLR from June 19-22. We only want to ride RSR in Carsland. I know our first day would not be the best to try and get FP because there are no black outs with AP. Our second day has black outs and is our only day that isn't a grad night! Our third day is the day we are going to start at DCA, and there are black outs for So Cal APs. Do you think we will be able to get a set of FP on Wednesday and at least one set on Thursday? We will be behind any of the AP holders that are already in the park on Thursday, so how long do you guess the FP line will be already when they let regular guests in?

I would say no more than 30 minutes. After the hour, is up, I'd expect the FP return time to be around 4:30pm. As for sets each day, you should be able to get, at least one each day. As long as you visit the FP machines early in the day, it should be no problem. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes Good Luck!!!

Yes, you will be behind APEE folks on Thursday, but remember there will also be Disney resort guest an hour early into DCA on Wednesday and Friday. We will be there at the same time, and are planning to use the EMH on Friday.

I hope you have a great time!

Unfortunately we don't have EMH because we couldn't justify spending an extra $700 or more just for a few extra hours. Luckily, we have no interest in riding the other two Carsland rides, so that should help us out...

When WOC opened I seem to remember people waiting an hour to get their FPs in the morning. RSR has decent capacity but there may be even less FPs for RSR than WOC because everyone at WOC needed one.

I would plan to be in the FP line for an hour in the morning.

Between my dh and I we will have to decide who waits in line and misses TSMM! I'm hoping to be able to hop over to DCA on that Wednesday morning at park opening. We are doing MTTM, so one of us can miss the very beginning of that.

An hour?? Really??? How bad would it be if we did TSMM before getting the FP?
If you want to ride RSR I would get in line for the FP as soon as you possibly can in the morning. They could run out of FPs. TSMM will always be there.

That is true! We have done TSMM on many WDW and DLR trips before, but we have not experienced Carsland!! What would you recommend the non FP runner take the two kds to do while the runner gets the FP?

I think that you are asking a question that only has best guesses and speculation as an answer since no one has any experience at all with Carsland crowd flow.

It's going to be busy. If it were me, I would go for a FP on the first day. If you strike out, you have future days to try again. Since it's the only ride you care about, you have nothing to lose.

Keep in mind that APs are blocked out on specific days because Disney expects to be busy on those days so it's not as if there are less people in the Parks on those days, it's just non-APs instead of APs.

I would treat a RSR FP as fireworks: Try to do it as early in your visit as possible so that if you miss out, you can try again.

Also remember, you can always just wait in line and have a great conversation with your friends/family.

I think Dreams has great advice to try for RSR FP earlier in the trip. While the FP runner waits you can take kids on any number of things...

- Explore CL just for fun
- TSMM
- And of the other PP rides
- Soarin
- MI
- Disney Animation
- ToT
- Etc.

Dh and i talked about it and we are going to try and get a RSR fp every day that we are there!! After reading the new Al Lutz artile we are so excited about this ride!

Dont forget, you can always go "old school" and just wait in line for RSR.

If you're waiting in line for an hour for a FP IF they don't run out before you get there, maybe consider just going to the actual line. Just a thought..... (Or maybe I shouldn't be sharing my (cough) secrets. :goodvibes)

Piggybacking on this idea...
I have 2 plans and not sure which is more reasonable/feasible:
1) Have a runner get the RSR FP while the rest of the group goes to line up for TSMM.
2) Get right in line for RSR and have a runner get FP for something else and do TSMM first thing on a different morning.

Because I was thinking the same thing...if you get to RSR right at opening to get a FP, aren't you also there early enough that RSR queue would be maybe half hour - 45 min (not unreasonable at all)?

good advice but I have an idea ....are you bringing any kids??? how about if one of you gets the FP for RSR and the others do TSMM but get a child swap pass so the other adult gets to ride when they get back from getting the FP????

I'm not so sure. Remember how Toy Story is. If you're not one of the very first through the gate, the line stretches and is very long, longer than it will be later in the afternoon. I have a feeling Cars will be the same in the morning - just packed. Plus, remember that the park will already have either AP holders or Hotel guests in, so you won't even be the first ones there at rope drop.

But yes, if FP line is an hour or more and using up precious morning time, then a 60-90 minute wait later in the day via standby might not be so bad. We'll just have to see how long the standby line gets.
