Trying to decide which day to go to Epcot.

Sunday, September 30: 1st weekend of F&W; D23 event for Epcot's 30th anniversary (Touringplans has Epcot as a Neutral Park with a crowd level of 1.1.)

Wednesday, October 3: Epcot has Evening EMH (Touringplans has Epcot as a Park to Avoid with a crowd level of 8.2.)

ETA: I know this should be a simple decision if I base it on Touringplans' suggestions, but I'm starting to doubt Touringplans' accuracy with this one due to the events on Sunday.

I don't buy TPs crowd predictions for the 30th. Not with it being the first F&W weekend. Easywdw has both of these days as not recommended for Epcot- the 30th because of F&W and the 3rd because of late EMH. Can you go on another day?

This is what I'm thinking. Unfortunately, there is no other day that will work. We will also be at Epcot on Monday, Oct. 1. I'm afraid it will be crowded, too, but I have an ADR at Le Cellier that I'm not willing to give up. We will also be park-hopping that day between AK and MK (for Evening EMH). We are doing MNSSHP on Thursday, Oct. 4, so that day is out since we like to sleep in and relax at the resort until 4:00 when we enter the park. The only other day is Tuesday, Oct. 2. Touringplans and easywdw show it's a good day for Epcot, but I'm not sure we can get to rope drop at DHS if we stay at MK until midnight the night before. My family likes to relax on our WDW trips. Plus we are changing resorts this day and will have to check in to a new resort. I'd just rather not go on Tuesday. And that's it. We check-out on Friday.

I don't know anything about the 30th anniversary event - is it all day or at a certain time?

We went to Epcot on a non-recommended day last year and it was the lowest crowds I've ever seen that morning. However, that's because Epcot was looked at as a whole. We were there the last Sat of F&W. What we did was get their by rope drop and focus on only Future World. We did head over to the other side early in the afternoon just over by the edge and it wasn't too bad yet, but then back over to Future World. We found that the big crowds were not there at rope drop since they were waiting until F&W was open and they wanted to stay late. It was actually low crowds in FW until past noon and then moderate, at least until our departure time. We were gone around 6pm. So, if the 30th anniversary is a night time event, perhaps it would work out to focus on FW and that day and then focus on WS on your next EP day.

*What's the hours like at Epcot the night before? If there's EMH the night before, then that would help the crowds be lower the next morning as well. We found that people coming for F&W were not generally the ones wanting to be at rope drop.

Oops. I should have mentioned in my original post that we will be park-hopping on this day, starting at DHS and arriving at Epcot at 11:00. We will be doing NOTHING in Future World (since Test Track is closed). Our whole focus will be on World Showcase and F&W. We will leave around 8:00 to eat at Yachtsman.
