Which CS to start the trip with "atmosphere"?

We will be arriving in Disney Dec. 10th and usually don't arrive until late afternoon just before dinner. But this year we are trying to be there by lunch.

We have a 5:30pm sleigh ride and 7:15 Coral Reef ADR. We will be getting to Disney around noon and checking in at FW Cabins. By the time we check-in and gets bags unloaded I imagine it will be around 1pm.

We won't have too much time before our sleigh ride and we always put up a Christmas tree so we will need a little time in the room before our evening activities so where is a good place to eat lunch when we get there (CS)?

We will have our own car, and I like to eat places with atmosphere and/or a Disney "feel". So I don't want to just grab lunch on the fly. Our favorite CS places are P.Haus (sitting near Small World boats) Mexico in Epcot (sitting on water in WS) Columbia Harbor House (sitting upstairs by window), Cosmic Rays (sitting outside looking at Cinderellas's Castle), Flame Tree BBQ (sitting by the water looking at Everest)....

If we DO NOT go to a park, which resort CS would be a good choice with similair "atmosphere" either Disney or Christmas??

I would definitely say grab food from Gasparilla Games in GF or Captain Cook's in Poly and eat in a "food-approved" section of the resort b/c they are both beautifully themed. :)

Contempo Cafe! The food is very good. Take the boat over to Contemporary then eat and watch the monorail zoom by overhead. Nothing says I'm in Disney like a monorail! Then maybe take a quick trip on the monorail before heading back!

Thanks! Forgot to mention that we are eating dinner at O'hana and Saana so we will be going to the AKL and Poly one night. This is the first year we won't be eating at the WL at Christmas (usually do WCC) or 1900 Park Fare.

I am planning on visiting the WL on our first night because it is so beautifully decorated.... was thinking of saving it for nighttime because of the Christmas lights... but it may be just as pretty during the daytime.

Am planning on going to GF too. But could go there for lunch on arrival day. It may not be as crowded during daytime....

Also eating at Chef Mickey's one night for dinner at the Contempory.

Do any of the CS at the deluxe resorts have any particular "special atmosphere" within the "resturant" or is it mainly the atmosphere of the resort itself?

In my opinion, there are no CS restaurants in the deluxes which provide any real atmosphere beyond the resort itself. My recommendation for those would be the open-air Contemo Cafe or, if the weather's nice Roaring Forks at WL taking your meal to an outside table.

The resort CS offering the most atmosphere beyond the general resort ambience would probably be Floatworks Factory at French Quarter, but some find the decor a bit creepy (I'm fine with it).

Finally, you might consider the English drawing room ambience at Earl of Sandwich, or maybe Wolfgang Puck Express.

I would recommend Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney Marketplace or the Contempo Cafe at Disney's Contemporary Resort.
