We will be at WDW from Feb. 10-17, 2005. I have thought about spliting our stay with WL standard view 3 nights and AKL conceirge 4 nights but it seem like too much of a hassel.

We have stayed at AKL conceirge before and really loved it. Should we try something new?

I have heard WL conceirge is not that great. Will the Poly, Boardwalk, or Y&B Club measure up to our high expectations set by AKL?

We still have lots of time but I am a planner!!!

Bump bump Bump --

Some one must have an opinion of this.

We stayed at WL concierge about 2 years ago. It was our first concierge experience, and we thought it was great. I think one of the major complaints people have is that there is no lounge. The food is on tables and there is seating on the 7th floor (I think it's the 7th). We thought the food offerings were great, and that the seating was just fine. The staff was very attentive also. Hope that's helpful!

We stayed at WL conc. and Poly last Feb (2004)

First of all, we split our stay and had no problems! We stayed at WL and then called the concierge desk and told them we needed to move to Poly. they called bell services, the valet, and the Poly concierges and had us moved. We had been worried but it was wonderfully simple!

WL was a lot less $$$ and the concierges were very friendly and helpful. The food was good, although they did not have a lounge. they do have tables set up and you can look down into the lobby.

Poly was a lot more $$$ but wow! I do not think you could be disappointed with the Poly. The lounge gives you a view of the castle, which we enjoyed all the time but esp. at night.

I thought the the WL CL was nice. Actually, I kinda liked how they had the tables seated so you could look down into the lobby. It's a very pretty view!

My DH and I stayed at the YC concierge for our honeymoon 3.5 years ago. We absolutely LOVED it!! The staff at the main desk area on the concierge floor were wonderful - we had passed a comment when checking in that we loved the Breathless boat and had wanted to book it for a romantic fireworks cruise, but they didn't have any open reservations. A couple days later, they stopped us as we came off the elevator to let us know they found an opening for the cruise on Breathless - it was so magical! I'd highly recommend the YC concierge.

You'll have to let us know what you finally decide on! Good luck.

We have stayed at both AKL and YC concierge. Both are great, but I would give the edge to AKL (slightly better service, nicer lounge, better food in lounge). That being said, you won't be disappointed if you try something new and go for the YC concierge.

we have stayed at the Poly and the Boardwalk Concierge, and there was no comparison. From what I have read and seen, the Poly Concierge is the best by far of all the resorts. The Poly C is in the Hawaii building, so if you stay in that building, it's a short walk right to the lounge. The lounge is huge...2 floors...the downstairs has all the food/drinks and there's an upstairs quiet area where you can relax, read and eat. The food is always excellent, but the best thing is the fact that they have drinks (water/soft drinks) out 24 hrs a day...my kids are already raving about how they can wake up at 2am and walk down to the the lounge and get a soda...(we're going in Aug)...while sitting in the lounge, you can look out the ceiling to floor windows over Bay Lake and out to Cindy's Castle....at night during the fireworks, they dim the lights in the lounge, pipe in the same music that is playing in the Magic Kingdom, and you can sit and enjoy the fireworks while enjoying a cordial or glass of wine...
the Boardwalk's concierge didn't even compare on any level...food wasn't nearly as good, no view to speak of, and you don't have 24 hour access...
As far as spliiting time, we do that almost every time we go...one of our fav things is experiencing the different resorts...we usually stay at an epcot resort and then switch to the poly concierge to enjoy the rest of the vacation in style...there is usually no hassle at all in switching...esp if you're staying concierge...you can just go to a theme park and have the concierge desk forward your luggage over to the new resort...
I have heard good things about the AK concierge...you should make a post describing it...

have fun!!!

I really want to try WL and Poly. I was thinking we could stay 3 nights at WL standard. I don't want to pay for concierge if they don't have a lounge and then switch to AKL concierge for the last four nights.

Will the switch still be easy even if you are not staying concierge at WL?

Renee

I have stayed at both the Polynesian and AKL concierge and I thought both were great. I would return to either. Both lounges are nice but the Polynesian does have the added view of the lagoon that is the best view in WDW. I enjoyed the offerings at both.

Aloha
