Now that we are downgrading from Deluxe to Regular dining plan, I've canceled nearly all of the "extra" reservations (made when we thought we'd do 2 TS a day) for our December trip.

We have a 6 year old son who likes Mickey and the Pooh Characters, and is a bit interested in Mary Poppins too (he wants to see if she is as good as his nanny, :rotfl: )

We have a 3 year old girl who loves princesses and Mickey.

We want to do about half character meals and half "regular" TS. the kids are good at sit-down restaurants.

We are KEEPING: Akershus Dinner; Kona Dinner; Le Cellier Dinner; 'Ohana Dinner

Out of the following 5 reservations, I can only keep 3 of them
:

1. Crystal Palace Breakfast (8:15am, so in before park opens, on our last day - we'll need to leave for the airport at 11am). Not sure if this is how my kids would choose to spend their last morning, however.

2. Crystal Palace Lunch

3. Tusker House Breakfast at 9:05am on our AK Day

4. Chef Mickey's Breakfast

5. 1900 Park Fare Breakfast

Thoughts on which 2 of the above 5 I should cancel? I don't want to pay for any out of pocket, as then I suspect we'll have leftover CS credits (and I need to lower our expenses a bit anyway)

I want to make the decision and cancel as soon as possible so they are available for others, so I don't want to travel with these extra ressies then decide when we are there.

Thank you!

well i would keep chef mickey, 1900 and crystals for lunch. i would drop the one on the day you are leaving this way you will not feel rushed or that you are craming it in. i have never been to tuskers house so i really can not say anything about that one. i have been to the others and really enjoyed them.

Drop the Crystal palace breakfast or the lunch. You don't need both, they are the same characters at lunch and breakfast

you say your kids like I'd keep the 1900 Park Fare and CM breakfast. You have the princesses at Askerhus, Mickey (and more) at CM and the Pooh, Tigger and Mary Poppins at 1900 Park fare.

I like CP and Tusker House food better but characters are an important part for kids. E.g. we always to CM breakfast because my daughter must see Pluto. Same for princesses and CRT lunch.

Drop 1 of the Crystal Palace's, and Tusker house. When at AK go to greeting trail right up from Lion King show and you'll get good interaction from Donald, Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy.

I would cancel Crystal Palace lunch and 1900 Park Breakfast. Don't cance Tusker house! It was awesome!

First, I would absolutely drop CP-Lunch. The lunch and dinner food there has gone down hill and has been downright dissappointing on our last few visits.

I would tend to go with dropping CM. Not because there is another wrong with it, but just out of process of elimination IMO. However, stoudt6 made a good point about seeing the same characters from Donald's Breakfast Safari elsewhere in AK (not sure about Daisy, she's a tough cookie to find sometimes).

If you must drop 2, I would suggest CP-Lunch and DBS. Keep in mind, if you are really having a hard time deciding which 2 to drop, breakfasts tend to be less expensive than other meals so if you truely desire 4 or 5 out of the 5, it wouldn't be as bad as paying for dinners OOP.

This is too easy of a question for me! :goodvibes

Without a doubt, I'd drop the CP breakfast on your last day since you have to leave for the airport so early.

I'd also definitely drop CM breakfast.

You have a great dining line-up! Happy times to you!

I would drop CP breakfast and CM breakfast. For us, breakfast buffets are a big waste of money - dry toast and juice, is not worth that price! That being said, Tusker House breakfast is a bit better than normal, and it's the only place to see Daisy Duck.

I will disagree with above poster who said that CP lunch and dinner are not good. On the contrary...after having eaten at all character meals on property too many times to count, CP still remains a consistently good experience all around. We do lunch, as we pay cash, and don't feel the $10.00/pp extra for dinner is worth it, but I would definitely keep CP for lunch.

So, these are my choices to keep:

1. Crystal Palace Lunch

2. Tusker House Breakfast at 9:05am on our AK Day ** Donald no longer comes around to tables, as you must get his photo before you enter restaurant ***

3. 1900 Park Fare Breakfast

These choices will allow for: Pooh and Friends, Donald, Mickey, Goofy, Daisy and Princesses. A great combo!

Happy eating, Tiger :)

drop one of the cyrstal palaces and then see if you still feel like eating at one of the other choices but good choice about ohana's:thumbsup2party::sulley::ccat:

Tusker breakfast was awesome food quality and selection, fun characters. I'd strongly advise to try to keep that one.

Haven't been to the others for the meals you indicate - did go to Chef Mickey's for dinner and was very unimpressed with the quality of the food and character interaction (so crowded that it's not fun when they come to the table).

Was very impressed with food and character interaction quality at 1900 PF (but again that was dinner)

Many of the characters you mention (Pooh and related characters, Mary) are in England in Epcot throughout the day. If you eliminate a breakfast with them you certainly should be able to find them in England.

I would cancel the Crystal Palace breakfast and the Chef Mickey breakfast. We went to Chef Mickey's twice last year. I preferred the 1900 Park Fare by far to Chef Mickey's. I didn't like the food at Chef Mickey's.

drop CP amd CM Tusker House Donald Safari was great but see Donald does no longer go to the tables? we were there in February and Donald was still walkng around so not positive on that. Trying to eat a TS and then get back to airport could be very rushed.

My vote is to drop CP lunch and CM breakfast.

Tusker House is a never miss for us. We love the breakfast and getting to see Daisy is a highlight. We had a lot of fun at 1900PF and my sons love Mary Poppins and Alice.

I would drop Crystal Palace lunch (we don't do buffets for anything but breakfast because of the disappointing food) and 1900 Park Fare Breakfast (if it were me I'd cancel Chef Mickey's because I believe the food has gone downhill, but that is the only place you can see the Fab Five).

Donald stopped going to tables at the end of March, Tiger

This is great information, thanks! I just dropped the 8:05 am Crystal Palace breakfast on our departure day, so hopefully another lucky family is celebrating right now :-)

Still trying to decide which other one to drop. I'm between Crystal Palace lunch, and Chef Mickey's breakfast. I need to search around online for photos and videos, and maybe let my kids decide.

Glad you are making progress. The thing is, Crystal Palace lunch is identical to breakfast in terms of charaters and the restaurant parade. The food is of course different, so I would really encourage you to not duplicate that, and choose another character meal. That way you are getting more characters!

I have tons of photos, but my kids are in them, and I'm not comfortable with posting those. I'm sure you'll find some photos either on here, or on All Ears, maybe?

Happy eating, Tiger :)

I would drop CM breakfast or 1900 Park Fare. CP lunch is good and its a must for ever Disney tirp.

Which would your kids be more interested in seeing at a character meal? Pluto or Eeyor and Piglet (since WtP and Tigger are at 1900 PF)? If they want to see Pluto, drop CP. If they would like to see Eeyor and Piglet, drop CM.
