which character meals would YOU drop?

Keep the park faire breakfast as Mary Poppins and Pooh characters are there! Then cancel the CP lunch and/or breakfast whichever doesn't work well with your touring plans.

If you cancel Tusker you can find Donald at Camp Minnie & Mickey in AK or Frontierland in MK. You can find Daisy at the town square in MK most AMs.

1. Crystal Palace Breakfast (8:15am, so in before park opens, on our last day - we'll need to leave for the airport at 11am). Not sure if this is how my kids would choose to spend their last morning, however. Cancel this one. It's cutting it too close to the airport. Besides, you'll probably need to do last minute packing and not really have time to rush to a breakfast in a park.

2. Crystal Palace Lunch Keep this one.

3. Tusker House Breakfast at 9:05am on our AK Day Breakfast at a park seems *easier* - no need to rush to a resort and then rush to a park.

4. Chef Mickey's Breakfast I'd cancel this one because I prefer to do breakfast in the parks. I also have read that the food at Tusker House is better (we are most likely doing Tusker House breakfast in March.)

5. 1900 Park Fare Breakfast

You don't have any princess meals in here. If your DD loves Princesses, I'd actually swap the 1900 PF breakfast for Akershus or the 1900 PF dinner. Alice is at breakfast, as is Mary Poppins, but there are no princesses.

You mentioned your DD loves the princesses. Can you drop 3 and get a princess lunch at Norway maybe? You do not need 2 Crystal Palace meals. Drop the one on the morning you leave, that could be a big stress filled breakfast. We had to wait almost a half hour to get into a Crystal Palace breakfast.
Drop Chef Mickey (I hear Mickey will not be circulating but I don't know the date he stops-he will only be available for a photo op before the meal). Mickey will be a the Tusker House for breakfast.

Tusker house is a very good breakfast, and convenient. Loved Mad hatter, Mary Poppins, and Alice at 1900PF(not to mention STRAWBERRY SOUP). And since you already dropped cp breakfast, I would definitely keep lunch there.

The OP said that they have and are keeping Akershus for dinner. Also, I believe I heard that the Chef Mickey photo op prior to meal experiment has already failed and now Mickey is back at the tables.

Now that we are downgrading from Deluxe to Regular dining plan, I've canceled nearly all of the "extra" reservations (made when we thought we'd do 2 TS a day) for our December trip.

We have a 6 year old son who likes Mickey and the Pooh Characters, and is a bit interested in Mary Poppins too (he wants to see if she is as good as his nanny, :rotfl: )

We have a 3 year old girl who loves princesses and Mickey.

We want to do about half character meals and half "regular" TS. the kids are good at sit-down restaurants.

We are KEEPING: Akershus Dinner; Kona Dinner; Le Cellier Dinner; 'Ohana Dinner

Out of the following 5 reservations, I can only keep 3 of them:

1. Crystal Palace Breakfast (8:15am, so in before park opens, on our last day - we'll need to leave for the airport at 11am). Not sure if this is how my kids would choose to spend their last morning, however.

2. Crystal Palace Lunch

3. Tusker House Breakfast at 9:05am on our AK Day

4. Chef Mickey's Breakfast

5. 1900 Park Fare Breakfast

Thoughts on which 2 of the above 5 I should cancel? I don't want to pay for any out of pocket, as then I suspect we'll have leftover CS credits (and I need to lower our expenses a bit anyway)

I want to make the decision and cancel as soon as possible so they are available for others, so I don't want to travel with these extra ressies then decide when we are there.

Thank you!

I would keep Chef mickeys and 1900 parkfare and tusker house. I would get rid of both CP meals. The breakfast because thats going to be stressful to squeeze in before you leave, I know my son would rather ride a few last min favorites before leaving. I would cancel the lunch because the food is not that impressive for lunch and dinner like a PP stated. Plus 1900 park fare breakfast has winnie and tigger astleast they did last year! CM I think is a must do if you can just because its mickey and 1900 park fare has awesome food. Ive never been to tusker house but I would opt for tusker over your 2 other choices! Have fun!

Since you have Crystal Palace down for both breakfast and lunch, I would get rid of one of those.

Also, keep your Tusker House ADR! It was one of our favorite meals on our most recent trip.

Keep Chef Mickeys, 1900 Park Fare, and CP lunch.
Definitely would ditch Tusker House we didnt care for it this year, there were only 3 characters rotating tables and each spent 5 seconds or less at each table. And the service wasnt great either.

I'd get rid of Crystal Palace breakfast since you'll be there for lunch and the kids might want to do attractions/rides instead, especially on your very last day. You'll be spending a good hour there, leaving very little time for anything else.

As much as I love Tusker House breakfast, I'd have to say I'd let that one go. Chef Mickeys is too good to miss, you have to do 1900 for Mary Poppins, and you need to do CP for lunch to satisfy your son.

I would drop the CP breakfast and lunch

Keep Chef Mickeys
Tuser House
1900 Park Beeakfast

Have fun :santa:

We did all the character meals listed last trip - CP, CM, Tusker, 1900 - Definitely the only one we will not return to is Tusker House. Only 3 characters, and each spent 5 seconds at each table, service wasnt great.

At all the other meals the characters at least interacted for a minuted or 2 and were not as rushed.

I agree with this!:thumbsup2
