Which Car Co. Accepted Your Priceline Bid @ MCO & How Much $$??

I'm thinking of trying a really lowball bid on an economy car for a 9 day stay starting on New Year's day. I'm hoping things will be slow as this is the WDW Value season for some reason, probably low attendance. Anyway, which companies use Priceline and how likely am I to get an on-terminal one, providing I get a nibble at all?

Priceline uses Alamo, Avis, Hertz, Budget and National. In the last few months Hertz has been the one seen most often from MCO (they are off site, all the others are on site, but Hertz has excellent service so it is not as big a deal as with many of the off sites).

In my experience Priceline is often your best bet for short term rentals (less than a week), but I have never been able to beat on line specials, code rates etc for rentals of a week or longer. Others may think differently.

I would suggest looking for codes etc at www.mousesavers.com then see what you can get on line using those codes yourself for the size car you want. Then you can make a Priceline bid less than what you could book on your own and see if it works. The only problem with Priceline is that it is prepaid and non-refundable, so if a great deal comes up later you can't take advantage of it.

My theory is sometimes you can do well with Priceline early bookings....so make a low ball bid and if nothing comes up, so what.... you have plenty of time. I have seen people report hits on Priceline as low as $12 and $13/day for a compact before taxes and fees....beware sometime their taxes and fees more than offset savings in daily rates so be sure to check the bottom line before you hit the submit my bid button!!

I use Priceline every other week and have gotten (in order of frequency) Alamo, Avis, Hertz Budget, and National (got National only once). But Budget seemed to be the only one I was getting for a while, a couple of months back. For this weekend, I got Avis and I bid WAY below their "suggested" amount that came up right before I clicked the "Submit" button.

I was also going to suggest Biddingfortravel.com. Its a great site to see what companies deal with Priceline and how things have been working lately. I got awesome hotel rates for Toronto last summer after watching what others were getting.

Looked and looked at all choices first and the cheapest was $109 for the same time frame. FIrst bid was $12 a day and was rejected..they suggested $21 a day but tried $18 and was accepted. This was purchased back on Aug 25.
