we are staying at old key west in september, first time staying at OKW, if we could request a building to stay in, which one should we request,
which is the best and which is the worst.
any other advice on OKW would be very welcome
We've stayed in 21, ground floor, which was an easy walk to a quiet pool, and 24, ground, which wasn't particularly close to anything. They're all nice though, and the whole resort has a very calm atmosphere. We often had the quiet pools to ourselves.
I liked the location of 63 as it was near the hospitality house, but we were near the main road so you could hear the buses passing all the time when you were on the balcony.
Building 33 was a little bit away from the hospitality house but it had a quiet pool nearby which was really good. It was a nice evening walk to and from the hospitality house.
We have booked again for April and I they have changed the way you can request particular areas. We requested near the hospitality house and we got a choice of two or three buildings.
I always thought that too, until we ended up along the bus turning area next to the South Point bus stop and it didn't bother us one bit! Didn't hear the buses, very wide clearance of parked vehicles etc ..... not the problem I thought it would be
Excellent to know as i was worrying about the bus turn around. We stayed in South Point last time and loved it as well, being near the Hospitality House is not really for us as we prefer quieter pools.
I did wonder about those buildings the times we've been. When we were next to Bonnet Creek Parkway we weren't really aware of the traffic along there but BVD is much busier.
We've been allocated buildings 16, 64, 53 and 54 and enjoyed different things about each of them - as has been said, it really depends on what is important to you in terms of proximity to HH / a quiet pool / bus stop / etc. Of those, I think 16 was probably my favourite because it wasn't far from anything and had wonderful quiet views over the golf course at the back
The worst thing for us was requesting (and getting) a top floor room because we find them quieter - and then discovering we were in a building without a lift! Because we'd either been ground floor or with a lift in the past, it hadn't ocurred to me that we might not enjoy carrying all the luggage up to the top floor . Next time I'll definitely ask Bell Services to help!
