Which buffets do you like at WDW? Do you like them better for breakfast or dinner?

Which has better selections?

I can only report on the buffets I have been two on my two trips. I will also mention character interaction - not sure if you are interested in that.

Chef Mickeys - I have been to breakfast and dinner. Food is better at breakfast and they have a good selection. Pretty standard buffet fare.
Character interaction was good at both meals. Food at dinner was okay.

Crystal Palace - I've only been to dinner. Food was very good and a good selection. Character interaction was slow and short.

Hollywood & Vine - I went to lunch. Food was good - pretty standard buffet fare and selection. Character interaction was great!

Tusker House - went to breakfast. Food was very good and a very good selection. Good character interaction.

Boma - went for dinner. Food was a little different for my tastes. However, what I did like was very good. Very big selection.

I'm not into breakfast but we love Biergarten and Crystal Palace.

Chef Mickeys had better food at breakfast, I like both. 1900 Park Fare at GF for dinner was ok. I think character buffet meals are a pain, trying to get your food and be with the characters. I feel rushed.
The buffet at Fort Wilderness was not so good. And I'm a southern girl.
These are the only buffets I have tried.
I hear Bomas is a really good dinner buffet, it's not a character meal. I will be at AK in three weeks and I'm giving that a try.

We're going to give Crystal Palace a try for breakfast on our next trip since we have only had lunch and dinner there. Crystal Palace is definitely in my top 3 restaurants in WDW. There is a good selection of excellent food. Service is some of the best I've ever had. Character interaction has really varied; twice it has been very good, but on our last trip it was very rare that a character would come to your table. We only saw Tigger in our 1 hour visit.

I don't do breakfast, but loved Crystal Palace for dinner for both good food and character interaction.

I don't know if we've just been lucky or what, but we've always had plenty of time with the characters--both early and late dinners. Usually 5:30-ish or 8 to 8:30-ish.

They do have a nice selection at dinner, which is critical to us. I'm a very picky, boring eater and my friend loves to try everything! *LOL*

Edited to add:

Our experiences at Hollywood & Vine for dinner have been less wonderful. Food not as varied and temperatures not maintained as well at at CP. Okay, but I wouldn't rush to eat there again.

We dined at 1900 Park Faire before the refurbishment. It was very good--my friend really liked it. Less so for me because of my picky eating habits, but what I tried was excellent. Character interaction was good, as well.

Without a doubt....Tusker House for breakfast...we were there in February and loved all aspects of it, the food was wonderful.

DH and I love breakfast buffets, we dont have any where we live and we like to have a nice big breakfast and skip lunch....plus having so many fresh fruit options is awesome.

There are some great dinner buffets. Boma and Biergarten are pretty good.

We really like chef Mickey's for Breakfast but want to try Crystal Palace.

My family loves Crystal Palace for breakfast & Boma for dinner. (and my DS 19 is a very picky eater & loves both of these).

I've never had breafast buffets at disney. When I'm at Disney I try to eat things that I couldn't eat at home. I can make eggs, sausage and bacon, so we usually eat lunches or dinners. I really enjoy Bomas and Crystal Palace.

We prefer breakfast, only b/c we're not heavy eaters at night usually. Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace is where we usually go.

We were at Disney last week on the DxDP so basically ate our way through Disney. We had the breakfast buffets at Cape May Cafe, Chef Mickey's, Tusker House and The Crystal Palace. They were all pretty good but Tusker House was our favorite for the food selection. I asked my 6 year old his favorite and he said the one with Pooh and Tigger (The Crystal Palace).

We also had the Dinner buffet at Boma's. We really enjoyed the food and probably would consider this our favorite of the buffets. Just be careful not to eat too much!

For breakfast: Crystal Palace (really good food & great character interaction).

Dinner: probably Chef Mickey - but don't go really late. We had a ressie for 8:45 PM and the food was horrible. We were very disappointed.

The other buffet we love is at Ft. Wilderness Campgrounds. We love it for breakfast (love their breakfast pizza) or dinner (really good fried chicken - although my DH's is the best IMO ).

We like Biergarten and Chef Mickey's for dinner and Crystal Palace, Play-N-Dine, and Norway for breakfast. (Get a 10:30 reservation the day the park opens early).

I does sound like we might have to add Tusker House to the breakfast rotation too the next time. We sure liked it as a counter service place and all I hear is good things.
