Which would you choose and why for two ten-year old twins (girl and boy), who like food, will try just about any type of food, and are traveling to WDW for their first trip?

Ohana's dinner or Mickey's Backyard BBQ?

Any advice is welcome!!!! Thanks in advance to all of the DIS Foodies out there!

My DD10 really really loved Ohana when we were there in November. I've never been to the BBQ, but I can give Ohana a thumbs up. :thumbsup2

If you think they would be interested in seeing the characters, I would pick Mickey's BBQ. Ohana doesn't have any characters during dinner. Hope this helps! :)

I would recommend Ohanas hands down. The theme is awesome and is a kid oriented restaurant. I dont know about the BBQ but it sounds fun.

My almost 10 year old would pick Ohanas. She loved it when we were there last Sept. and so did my 13 year old son. We did the BBQ when they were younger and they were actually a bit bored. Are you doing other character meals during your stay? If so, then Ohanas for sure!

Already have CRT and Crystal Palace planned.

I know that you can see the characters at the BBQ, but do they do pics and autographs, too?

I think I can get in a Chef Mickey's or Cape May on last morning, if they really want to see some of the classic characters.

My dd11 didn't like Ohanas.

Sorry. She's actually a 'partly' adventurous eater, will gamely try, and like, new flavors. I loved the salad and appetizers, and she liked the flavor of the chicken wings, just not the fact that they made her fingers sticky. (Ok, she had an attitude when we entered, and she is almost 12. :lmao: )

She's never liked shrimp, but loves steak. We both thought the steak had an odd texture. The pork was about as dry as can be. The turkey (which I thought I wouldn't like) was really good, especially with the peanut sauce. I found that I didn't like the fire-roasting because the meats were way too charred for my taste.

Some of her favorite places have been 9 Dragons, Yak & Yeti (we both love the green beans), Tokyo Dining, 50s Prime Time, Coral Reef, Sci Fi, Boma, Le Cellier. So she's pretty adaptable.

I would go with Ohana's. Especially if you have other character experiences planned!

Nice to hear about her other favs because already have planned--Yak and Yeti, Coral Reef, and Sci Fi. I do know they will love Cape May dinner because they adore clams!

We are taking our kids to Mickey's Backyard BBQ during our next trip. They are 5,4, and almost 2. We went to Ohana last year and the kids were just not into it.
