Which beach?

I'm not sure this is the right place to ask this but none of the other forums seemed appropriate!

We are looking to spend a day at the beach on our way home and would like to make a hotel reservation in advance; we'll be heading up I-95 into Georgia. Does anyone have a good suggestion? We like quiet, sea-shelling kind of beaches as opposed to party all night wet t-shirt beaches but I'd settle for a happy medium. TIA for any advice!!!

Honestly..unless it is Spring break--I can't think of any place you'd have to worry about the party atmosphere.

North of Jax is anastasia island (I think that is the name) and I have heard their beaches are gorgeous.

I live in Melbourne and I like our beaches as well

what about the tibit island or somthing like that, I read a book that took place there, it sounds romantic

I've never been there so this isn't a first hand recommendation, but my friend said there is a great beach just north of St Augustine.
