Which backwards portion is more intense? Guardians or Everest?

I am trying to decide if we should go on Guardians of the Galaxy. We don’t enjoy Expedition Everest because the backwards motion makes us feel dizzy.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks

I haven’t been on it yet, but it seems that the backwards portion is shorter on GotG than on EE.
But there is a lot of rotation on the GotG ride so if dizziness is a problem for you, maybe watch a video and see if it is something you would want to do.

It's much slower and gentler than Expedition Everest. I understand getting queasy on EE, I do too, but this is nothing compared to that.

Also I don't know if you'd listened to the songs that are played on the track, but none of them are very fast paced, so it helped (at least for me) knowing that the songs were more mellow lending to the vibe of the ride.

I LOVE the Guardians ride, I've been on it 30+ times by now and enjoy every time. I really like the backwards part of the ride too, although sometimes going up the hill and turning does get me a tad busy a little. I've never done Everest as I'm afraid of the backwards section on there. I've assumed it's way more intense since you're going in a helix fast, and it's longer. Which ride would you say has the more intense backwards portion? Should I do Everest? It seems more thrilling.
I did Everest once and won't again because of the backwards part. I just remember thinking to myself, "It's gonna be over soon, it's gonna be over soon," and it just wouldn't end. It felt so unnatural. I LOVED the backwards part on Guardians! I did have to close my eyes a few times later on the ride bc I was getting a little disoriented- mostly when it's really dark and there are no big visuals to focus on. My 9 year old was positively green after riding on Everest and was good to go after Guardians.

Seems like I'm in the minority here, but I felt that Guardians was much more disorienting and more 'intense' than EE. I didn't get sick on Guardians (used Bonine), but I don't think I could've handled another ride on it during the same day. I was able to ride EE twice fairly close together with no issues at all. I think it's the 'free' motion and screens that get me.

Is there anyone who is OK with Everest, but not Guardians, in terms of motion sickness? I can just about tolerate Everest without seasickness meds, but have not yet ridden Guardians and I have quite a bit of trepidation about it.

I do not get motion sickness on Everest, UNLESS I ride multiple times in a row (after 3 times, I was feeling it,) I do get a slight discombobulated feeling after riding, not queasy. But, I did get queasy on Hagrids, and sometimes on other rides that go backwards, including Guardians. For GotG, I don't think it was the backwards though, I think it was the constant turning, rotating while also on the coaster track. It reminded me more of Forbidden Journey at Universal but as a roller coaster, and I can't ride FJ anymore. So to me, while the backwards part of EE is more intense, Guaridans made me queasy, and EE does not. Everyone is so very different on what they can tolerate. Guardians is an awesome ride though. I'd still give it a try.

Riding backwards bothers me, but I have found that I can twist my body slightly and turn my head to look over my shoulder on Everest and make it through that section with no ill effects. If it went on for much longer, though, all bets would be off. It‘s just short enough.

I was concerned about Guardians but I had zero issues with it!

If I was going to have motion issues it would be with Guardians, not EE
It's the twisting while circling in Guardians that would do it
EE doesn't do that. It's got the stomach dropping during the backwards portion but that doesn't cause motion issues with the inner ear, at least for me
Guardians could potentially. I don't have issues unless maybe I rode it 30 days in a day or something, or was pretty tipsy. Or both. Then yeah. But I could ride EE 30 times tipsy and walk away just fine. So in that, I agree with you completely in regards to disorienting.

I just wanted to chime in that my whole family LOVED Guardians. The backwards launch is shorter, slower, and smoother than Everest. Such a fun ride. We might even pay to ride it and do the VQ on our next Epcot day.
