Which attractions for a toddler?

Hi,

We're going to Disneyland in a couple of weeks and would like plan our strategy for which attractions to visit. We're going with our 15 month old son, and would appreciate any advice about which rides, etc. are best for this age group. Thank you!!!

Our guy was about 17 months when he went first.

He slept through POTC, he liked looking around...he LOVED the Pooh ride. I "wore" him in my mei tai carrier most of the day, so he had a nice view (just under my chin) of everything, and seemed to enjoy taking in everything. Oh yeah, he adored Small World. My boy...I love that ride too and could listen to the song a million times (and almost have, too).

We never even went into toontown until he was 3 (barely noticed it was there) but I'm sure he would have enjoyed playing in Goofy's "house".

On that trip we did go on Snow White and Pinocchio, and he didn't really mind them, but I discovered that I kind of hate them, so we don't go anymore. Your guy might be OK with them if you want to go on them, but IMO you're not missing much if you skip them. They are kind of scary and very dark.

I wish we had gone on Alice with him that little, but I didn't even know it was there (didn't even see it!) for some reason.

That's all I remember right now, sorry! It was only a one-day visit so it was all a bit of a blur.

That no lap-sitting thing caused us to have to exit Autopia. They actually said that for children UNDER one, they could sit on laps, but since DS was over 1, he could not. And he absolutely refused to sit on the seat, so we had to take a walk of shame out of there.

Toddler years are such a wonderful age to take a child! My DD was 18 months old on our first trip and loved everything they would allow her on. She was mesmorized by all of Disneyland. The look on her face was priceless.

Then, we went with our DD, DS-in-law and grandson, when he was 16 months old. He was about the same as my DD and loved it as well. He was so funny because everytime a ride would stop he would hang on, bounce up and down and start to cry because he didn't want to get off! Luckily, he got over it really fast and off we would go onto the next ride... where he would do it all over again.
