Which All Stars would you pick?

I have a friend going to WDW in January with her hubby and 2 DD ages 2 and 4. They want to stay in an All Stars Resort but need advice on which one to stay in. Also, are there particular buildings they should request for any of the All Stars? Thanks in advance!

With kids ages 2 and 4, I think movies would be most recognizable for them. I've stayed at music and movies, but prefer movies.
If they would like to be close to lobby, food court, and main pool, I would suggest Dalmatians, Toy story, ot Fantasia. I believe Fantasia is a preferred building and they charge $10 extra a night.
We stayed dalmatians last time and it was about a 30 second walk to pool.

For younger children definately the movies. The huge character statues and themed areas thrilled my kids when we went. They also made for great photo ops.

I'd pick in this order- 1st- Movies, 2nd- Sports, 3rd- Music.

For little ones, I would definitely recommend the Movies... they will be more recognizible for them!

I would also suggest Movies for the kids!!! My little one loves this hotel!!! We've stayed in Love Bug and 101 Dalmations, and loved them both. They were very quiet, and a short walk to the food court/bus stop. There is a pretend big TV and a little puppy "watching" the TV right outside the building at 101 Dalmations. Every time we walked by, my little girl had to be on TV, and she would talk with the puppy - she loved it! We also enjoyed playing in "Andy's Room", by the Toy Story building.

Have fun!

Movies also has a bigger food court with more choices.

The food courts are the same size in each resort. Sports, Music and Movies only differ in theme and building layout.

In my opinion they are all about equal and the rate would drive me decision. I did enjoy movies and for kids I say ti is the best themed as Disney-ish goes. But, the are all pretty much equal. I would definitely take athe $49 rate as Music or Sports over a higher rate just to stay at Movies.

Another vote for Movies. I can't personally confirm this, but I've heard that Sports sometimes (depending upon the time of year) has a larger amounts of teens (athletes and cheer leaders) who can get a bit rowdy.

When we stayed at Movies and walked over to Sports, this was somewhat apparent. It appeared that more families with younger children were at Movies.

We have stayed at both but for smaller children I would suggest movies as well.

On our stays (3 times) at sports we have never had any problem with noise or children. I know that the last time we were there they had several cheerleading groups but we had no problems so I would agree that any one would be fine. I would go with the cheaper rate if that is important to you. We always visit the other resorts when we go to take pictures and let the children play. MOST IMPORTANT HAVE FUN!!!

Howdy!

Yes, I agree! Movies all the way (unless of course you can get a better deal on the Music/Sports). However, sometimes deals that are offered for Music/Sports and not for Movies can also be honored by the reservationist anyway... Just ask nicely ;) I think a lot may depend on availability though.

Also, if I remember correctly, ASMovies played an animated Disney movie in the mornings (sometimes later too?) in the lobby on a big LCD screen.... So cute watching all those kids gathered around watching together. DH and I stayed there in the Fantasia 2000 building for our 1st anniversary and had a great time! All 3 are almost exactly the same except for slight "theming" differences.

Have a great time!

Indeed, a silly question, but i am taking middle school students to ASMovies in March- one boy asked today if they have hookups for Nintendo - if it were me , the Nintendo would stay home and i mentioned that too but the question would like a reply. Thanks for your responses.

lovingthemouse - I don't think so....but our focus was not staying in the hotel room. I am sure you can ask a CM when reserving your room. Sorry - can't be definite.

My first choice is Movies, but only due to the theming.
We stayed last month and are set for January at Music due to the rate.
They are so interchangeable.
The theming you like best will just depend on your personal taste.
I like the resort layout of ASMo better.
But we walked around ASMu. And even though the buildings go straight back right/left side, rather back and side, it really isn't a far walk. And it was much more serene feeling the further back we walked in ASMu. And they have a nice quiet pool towards the back too.
