Which AK Street Show is Better?

We will be in AK in November with a five year old. If schedules stay similar to previous November schedules from Touring Plans website, it appears we wont be able to see both Discovery Island Carnivale and Harambe Wildlife Parti. We hope to see some of the entertainment in Africa section before/after lunch in that section. I am leaning toward Carnivale before Flame Tree Barbeque, but need opinions from people who have seen these shows. Thanks

We liked Carnivale better. My kids were 10 and 12 last year, so I can't speak to which one your 5 year old will like more.

I will go on and say that I wish there were more in depth conversations about the street performances on these boards. They are truly some of the hidden gems of Disney, and it's surprising how many people will ride the same rides year after year, but never give the street performances a chance.

You are correct in saying it's often difficult to see all of them, especially if you are on a short trip and/or without hoppers. Unfortunately, Disney has pulled some of the street performances over the last 2-3 years. I would encourage visitors to try and catch them when they can. Certainly worth the time over a 2nd or 3rd ride on an attraction.

Totally agree. We are guilty of this. We have been to WDW many times, but rarely stop and watch the street performers. We hustle from attraction to attractions to stick to our plan, make our FP times and get to our ADR.
Most of my info for planning comes from these boards. I have rarely seen discussions of the street performers. I just checked the MDE and see them listed under "entertainment" but there is not much information about them.

Someone please start a thread of "best street performers"....

I would choose Carnivale...but also don't miss Discovery Island Sunset Serenatas. He is an amazing performer who plays a harp, with a very upbeat sound. We always stop to see him play, and there are always kids who are dancing and enjoying the show.

I really enjoyed the band performing at Harambe when we went to AK last year. For me, it was the best part of AK.

I haven't really watched the other one beyond just when I was walking past, but we love the show over in Harambe.
