I am bringing my family to DL for the 1st time in June. We have visited WDW many times but we thought it would be fun to visit the original!!! We will be staying at the DL Hotel with our DVC points. We will be getting a car, so can anyone give me information about which airline and airport we should use? Thanks in advance!!!:)

I'm not sure about Nashville. But the only way I can get direct flights from Memphis is to fly into LAX.

John Wayne (Orange County) Airport is the closest with Long Beach being the second closest. I wouldn't fly into LAX unless you HAVE to. It's a 40-45 minute drive to DL and that's WITHOUT traffic.

I would guess it would depend on the airline that you have an option for and what flights will work. SNA appears the best.closest. I avoid going to LAX when I travel, major hassle since the airport sits on the coast.

Another vote for SNA...aka John Wayne...aka Orange County airport. It's the closest to DLR and very easy to navigate!

Thanks everybody for the information. I will have to check to see which airlines fly to John Wayne. I know Southwest flies direct to LAX but I don't think they even fly there.

Thanks Again!!!

You can also get a non-stop flight from Nashville to Ontario or San Diego. I fly to Nashville all the time to visit relative in KY. Ontario is about 50 minutes from DL, but is a smaller airport with less traffic. SD is about 1.5 hours away, but is also smaller and easier (and a great option if you want to see any SD sights like the zoo or Sea World.)
