'Where's your prince' and will this tale end 'happily ever after'? Sept 11 - Complete

:cool1: for tot. This trip was my first time as well, and I loved it. Wish I knew you needed someone to go on rnr with I would have found time to go on with you. It is still my favorite for HS. Wish I could help you out with not having to go solo on your next trip would love to go next year, but need to get other trips out of the way first. Family always wants you to visit them. JK I love my family visit but miss my home away from home.

Catching back up after our trip!!!

It sounds like you had a lovely night at Poly!! I LOVE those hammocks at Poly!!

Sounds like a lovely day at epcot! All of your character pics are adorable!

Your dinner at Chef’s sounds great! I love that lobster bisque!! But, I agree it’s very filling!!

I must say, I like all your late mornings! I know everyone wants to get out of the room early BUT I think we need to also remember that it is vacation!!!

I love that you guys had cupcakes for lunch!!! That’s my kind of lunch!!

I just finished catching up on your TR.
I'm glad the character spot was so much fun; Chip and Dale and Donald are my favorites, so it was nice to see you enjoyed them as well.
Kudos to you for enjoying ToT, sounds like you had a blast!:thumbsup2
Those cupcakes at Starring Rolls are delicious! However, they're so big I always have to split them with someone else.

Welcome back and thank you for catching up! :goodvibes
Oh, I'm so glad it was fun as well as otherwise I would have never heard the end of it for making Zaheer wait in line for so long :lmao: Yes we enjoyed Chip and Dale as well as Donald.
I had a great time on ToT and am soo happy I went on it.
Lol yes the capcakes are huge but definitely delicious :thumbsup2 I had the Red Velvet one all to myself as we had not had lunch so that was a substitute. However, later on I do share another cupcake from here.

Oh No! Yet another excuse to get back to Disney! :) I was able to get my mother on this one, and she doesn't do roller coasters at all, but she was willing to do everything once. She came out grinning from ear to ear! Now on our upcoming trip she says she can skip it, I think she forgot how much she enjoyed RnRC.

:lmao: I don't need an excuse but if I did I sure can think of quite a few ;) I agree in that I think your mother has forgotten how much she enjoyed her last experience - you probably just need to remind her.

I am just catching up on your report!! I missed a lot while I was gone, lots of good stuff to read :goodvibes

Welcome back!! Thank you for catching up :goodvibes I'm glad you are enjoying the read.

Thanks! Oh, I'm so happy I went on this on our first trip as I think I would have regretted it otherwise. I'm glad you enjoyed it as well. Aaw thank you - I should have mentioned it when I saw you but it never even entered my mind. If we are ever at Disney World at the same time again I will definitely be taking you up on the offer :goodvibes

Lol I know exactly what you mean. I have lots of family to visit as well - I'm hoping to have a trip next year but am still not 100% certain it'll happen. Need to find a job to pay for it and part of me is thinking to just wait until the Fantasyland expansion is completed.

Catching back up after our trip!!!

Welcome back and thank you for catching up! :goodvibes I have just caught up on your TR and looking forward to reading more.

It sounds like you had a lovely night at Poly!! I LOVE those hammocks at Poly!!

Poly was amazing and we LOVED those hammocks. I so get why people want to stay at this resort now and would love to plan a trip here one day :cloud9:

Sounds like a lovely day at epcot! All of your character pics are adorable!

We loved Epcot and aww thank you - it was so much fun meeting with all the characters.

Your dinner at Chef’s sounds great! I love that lobster bisque!! But, I agree it’s very filling!!

Chef's was great and I'm glad you understand that the Lobster Bisque in itself is a meal!

I must say, I like all your late mornings! I know everyone wants to get out of the room early BUT I think we need to also remember that it is vacation!!!

I wanted to leave early on a few occasions but knew there was no point in rushing Zaheer - like you said it was a vacation and we wanted to enjoy it!!

I love that you guys had cupcakes for lunch!!! That’s my kind of lunch!!

That's my kind of lunch as well!!! :rotfl:

Once we had eaten our yummy lunch we found a spot to watch the parade.

We spoke with the CM who was Daniel and currently on the college programme. He had been there for just under one month and was staying until January! He said he had been to some parks but not managed to spend a whole day at Disney Parks yet.

We watched the parade which was a lot of fun and took lots of pictures.

Zaheer also took a video which included some sky writing:

After the parade we went on The Great Movie Ride. It was fun and we loved the movie clips at the end. We obviously had the gangster ride which is very popular according to these boards!

DSCF1095-1.jpg

We then returned to TSMM to use our FPs. Zaheer beat me again but this time he did not get the highest score in the vehicle. He was not happy and didn't take a picture because it wasn't his score!

DSCF1103-1.jpg

I wanted to ride Tower of Terror again so Zaheer ran and got FPs (he's faster than I am!) and I waited by American Idol. The area was roped off for the Disney Channel stage show - I saw some of it and knew it was something my little sister would love to watch one day.

DSCF1140-1.jpg

Once Zaheer returned we went to Lights, Motors, Action which was okay but out of all the shows I think it was our least favourite. It was very hot being seated outdoors and apart from Lightning McQueen there was not much of interest.

DSCF1107-1.jpg
DSCF1112-1.jpg

We saw Phineas and Ferb on the way to Muppet Vision 3D. My sister had requested a photo and an autograph. The line was very long so we took a photo from afar.

We loved Muppet Vision and found it hilarious however I can understand why people would find it outdated.

We took some pics on the Streets of America and went to watch American Idol.

We loved American Idol! I wanted the 1st auditionee (Billy Ascot) to win as he was very good (can't remember where he was from) however Zaheer wanted a lady from the UK to win who was also auditioning. He was being loyal as to be honest she wasn't that good. Billy won (he was the one wearing the cap and glasses - he got some stick for his fashion sense from the judges!) and I would've loved to have found out if he won the 7pm show but we had dinner plans so knew this wouldn't be happening.

DSCF1155-1.jpg

We then walked to Tower of Terror. It was at this point Zaheer joined the queue with me. He was terrified that he would have to ride the drops and not be able to walk out at the end of the queue. I wish I had taken a picture but it didn't even enter my mind. I was too busy trying to keep him calm and tell him that he would be able to leave. After seeing the video in the waiting room he got even more worked up! I don't think he even noticed the theming :rotfl2:

Luckily when we got to the end I went in the elevator and he was taken to one side. He told me afterwards he went down the service elevator which is just like a normal one. I didn't even know one existed! I loved the ride again and had even more fun this time as I sort of knew what was coming - obviously the drop sequence was different. Zaheer took a redneck photo whilst waiting for me.

DSCF1161-1.jpg

I'm still clutching on for dear life! The people next to me are looking at me as if why are you holding on so hard!!! :lmao:

Continued in next post...

We then decided to call it a night and head for our dinner reservation. We noticed the Fantasmic queue on the way and it was already massive at 7.15 pm.We took some pics along the way:

We got to 50s PTC and checked in. Our server was cousin Kimberley who was okay but didn't get us involved in any antics. This is what we had come for so we were a bit disappointed - I had even warned Zaheer of the antics that could take place. We were put in a side room and I noticed that the guests in the main room were having way much fun. They were families and with children though so I'm guessing that made a difference :confused3

I ordered a strawberry smoothie and Zaheer got a Sprite.

366-2.jpg
367-2.jpg

We both got the fried chicken which was okay.

368-2.jpg

For dessert I got the Boston Parfait (which was very yummy!) and Zaheer got the apple crumble (he said it was nice).

370-2.jpg
DSCF1177-2.jpg

We noticed Cousin Tony in the main room and he was a hoot poking people with sticks and running away! If you want some fun I would recommend asking to be served by him.

We paid our bill and left. We were very giddy on the walk to the bus - I think it was because we hadn't walked as much as the other days because of seeing all the shows. Therefore we were not tired and being a bit silly at DHS!

DSCF1181-1.jpg
DSCF1185-1.jpg
DSCF1186-1.jpg

The bus arrived as we were walking to the stop and we caught it. We even got to watch Illuminations on the journey back which made our evening even more special. We watched 50 first dates and fell asleep.

Highs:

Riding TSMM and ToT twice!
Watching Americal Idol and Beauty and the Beast
Getting our hands on the Starring Roll cupcakes

Lows:

Zaheer being scared at the prospect of riding ToT - though this was funny as well!
Not being involved in the antics at 50s PTC

Coming next: Typhoon Lagoon v football -which would I choose?

loved your day at Hollywood Studios :goodvibes

I've only been to 50s Prime Time once, with DH's family a few years ago, we had lunch there & had barely any interaction like I was expecting from our server.. I guess you just have to be in the right room with the right cast member? :confused3 loved the food & theming though.

You were so brave doing ToT alone!! On a trip with my sister, we went to DHS for extra magic hours & almost ended up in a lift on ToT just the two of us.. luckily some more guests came along, I think we would have screamed the park down if it had been just us! :scared1:

Hope you're having a good weekend :goodvibes

Great update, Tanz. You had a full day at hte Studios. I LOVE TOT and could ride it over and over again. We skipped the Movie Ride and several things this trip at the Studios s we had to get to Epcot (although we normally only last a half day at hte Studios anyway because we don't find enough to do there). I'm sorry you didn't get the antics at 50's Prime Time (we've not been in 12 years and were supposed to go this year, but cancelled it the morning of). That's too funny that Zaheer did not want to do TOT.

I can't blame Zaheer, I'd have been just as nervous waiting in line for ToT! That is not a ride you want to "accidentally" go on. :scared1:

That's a bummer that your server at 50's PTC wasn't very involved. I've discovered that, sometimes, being 2 adults, doesn't get the same experience, because the CMs just assume you're too old for all the antics. (Which is very untrue!):confused3

Sounds like you guys had an awesome HS day, though. :thumbsup2

What a fun day at my favorite park! I can't believe your DH wouldn't ride ToT! It's my favorite, especially at night!

I love your parade pictures... I NEED to see that parade. Even if just to see Boo, it'd totally be worth it for me!

And I was laughing out loud when I was reading about Zaheer being afraid of Tower of Terror... my Dad is the same way! When he found out about the "chicken" elevator he claimed from now on he'll ride "his" own special elevator ride while Mom rides hers :rotfl:

Love the update! I'm going to have to remember that parade, so many favorite characters :) Yep, we love the Muppets 3D show also, it is just too cute! I always love the end where the bullet holes are in the walls, and I think someone is in the back wall? Love the two old guys in the balcony, love when the monster comes looking in the audience for the bunny. Love it all!

They really do make you wait awhile before they'll let you out the chicken exit on TOT! And I think it's hilarious that they send you right onto an elevator

Too bad about Prime Time! I've never been...partially because I think my kids might be too shy to get into the act there...maybe we should go and ask for your server!

What an awesome day in DHS! I love the theme of TOT I just have a hard time with the drops. I ride it for Sam, but I'm kinda glad Kadence isn't intrested yet!:thumbsup2

We had the same waitress at 50's PT in Jan! We were actually glad she was more mellow. It was fun watching others get force feed their veggies, but I didn't want it to happen to me!

Poor Zaheer, not top score on TSM. I understand I always want to be high scorer in the vehicle!:rotfl2:

I agree with Lights Motors Action. Honestly, to me it's the kind of show that you can see once and be okay with it. It's just not my type of thing either. There are many other things I would rather do at DHS.

Sounds like you guys had a good DHS day in general. No worries about holding on for dear life on ToT. It takes a while before you stop doing that.

Sounds like you guys had a great day!

Too funny that the "chicken exit" is an elevator! :lmao:

I'm not a LMA girl myself, will happily skip it every trip.

Too bad you didn't have a "fun" server at 50s. I'm thinking about it for next trip, but it's hard to tell what mood my DD and DH will be in at lunchtime :lmao:

Can't wait to read more!

Great Update, love the Parade pics, I loved that parade! I love the Up! characters and the song is very catchy. Too bad you weren't thrilled with the Lights Motor Action show, that is one I haven't seen yet, we missed it on our last two trips.

Thanks Emma - hope you are having a great weekend! :goodvibes

We loved the food and theming but felt the same as you...we didn't get the interaction we were hoping for. I guess like you said you have be in the right room with the right cast member.

Thanks - I don't mind drop rides so felt okay about ToT. I can't say the same thing about upside down loops though! That's good that some other people joined you and your sister though having an elevator to yourselves sounds like fun!

Thanks Kathy. We had actually planned 2 days for Studios but it didn't quite work out that way as you will find out later. I feel the same way about ToT - of course I would feel better on having someone with me. Then I could happily spend all day in an elevator! :lmao: I can understand if you have been many times that DHS can be done in half a day however we still found we missed stuff after even a full day in the park.

I was a bit bummed about our experience at 50s PTC but at least we still enjoyed the food. It was hilarious but ssh he doesn't like being reminded of it! :rotfl2:

I can't blame Zaheer, I'd have been just as nervous waiting in line for ToT! That is not a ride you want to "accidentally" go on. :scared1:

I suppose I can't blame him either - I think he only calmed down once he reached the front of the queue and realised there was an alternative exit! I probably would have been the same if I didn't like drops.

I know, makes me wish we had eaten elsewhere however the food was still good so I suppose it could have been worse! That's the conclusion I came to as well however I'm definitely not too old for the antics and don't think I ever will be.

We loved our day at DHS - after reading about it I thought it would not be as big of a hit compared to other parks however we still found plenty to do and enjoy :thumbsup2

What a fun day at my favorite park! I can't believe your DH wouldn't ride ToT! It's my favorite, especially at night!

Thanks - we loved our time at DHS! I know - I thought being in the queue might change his mind but he was having none of it! :rotfl: I never got to ride it at night but hope to get that in on a future trip :goodvibes

Btw I hope you don't mind me saying but I'm sorry to read about your loss. However, congratulations on expecting baby #2! Do you know what you are having - boy or girl? :cutie:

I love your parade pictures... I NEED to see that parade. Even if just to see Boo, it'd totally be worth it for me!

And I was laughing out loud when I was reading about Zaheer being afraid of Tower of Terror... my Dad is the same way! When he found out about the "chicken" elevator he claimed from now on he'll ride "his" own special elevator ride while Mom rides hers :rotfl:

Thanks - I would definitely recommend seeing this parade! We loved it and we hadn't even planned to watch it but am glad it worked out this way. We got to see so many characters and Boo was great fun.

Lol, am pretty sure Zaheer feels the same way as your dad! :lmao: I think the 'chicken' elevator is seriously going to have some competition!

Love the update! I'm going to have to remember that parade, so many favorite characters :) Yep, we love the Muppets 3D show also, it is just too cute! Thanks! Yes, definitely try to watch that parade - it is great fun :) The Muppets 3D was soo good and I'm glad we managed to watch it. The two old guys on the balcony are hilarious and I love the bunny search as well. Just writing about it makes me wish I had my glasses on and was back in the theatre :thumbsup2

They really do make you wait awhile before they'll let you out the chicken exit on TOT! And I think it's hilarious that they send you right onto an elevator

Too bad about Prime Time! I've never been...partially because I think my kids might be too shy to get into the act there...maybe we should go and ask for your server!

:rotfl2: You are so right about the wait. I think Zaheer will be a bit more relaxed on a future trip, now that he knows there is a chicken exit! I never asked him how he felt about going into an elevator however that must have not gone down well!

Oh, if you don't want to get involved in the act definitely ask for Cousin Kimberley - you will be very safe!
