Where's the "I'm thankful for" thread?

That's what DH says. I remind him sheep are friends, not food! :rotfl: :fish:

I wanna know what Magicbus is thankful for. :goodvibes

I have a very different perspective this year. Last week a friend lost her home to a fire. Everything is gone, except her photos and her family is safe. Before sunrise all of us ladies from the Junior league were in full on emergency response mode. We had a trust set up for her at the bank to accept donations, a clothing and toy drive and a fundraiser in the works. I realized that things are just things and friends and family are what matter most. Knowing that should anything ever happen that I would have all of my friends there for my family made me thankful to be part of such a great organization of women.
Also, being part of the league in years past has always made me grateful for what we have. When we go and help out women in really bad situations (human trafficking women into our area to be slaves is a big issue) one has to be humbled for the freedom often taken for granted.

So all of the above and chocolate.

I'm thankful that I was able to retire this year and that a terrible nightmare (of my own making) is finally over.

My wife hasn't thrown me out on my ear (yet)...

I have wonderful kids, who I can smear with yogurt and they don't get mad...

We only have 2 dogs, so far...

I get to spend the day tomorrow with a lot of family, good food, and football...

I have a lot of friends...

I have the promise of much, much more.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I am thankful that I found this place to escape for brief moments of calorie/guilt free addiction when needed.

Most important of all, I am thankful to be blessed with good health, frequent happiness, great family and friends and a job that enriches my mind and pays the bills.

Thank you to Auntie, BDR and Christie for helpful advice and kind words on dark days.

I should have never started this thread because in the back of my mind I knew that I would have to respond at some point.
We are so fortunate. Don't know how it happened but it did. Our 4 kids and 6 grandkids are doing well. We have our health. Gail's business continues to do well and I make a ton of money at WDW. And of course we have Buddy. But most of all, we're thankful that we are able to persue our passion of being able to make life a little easier, or happier, for families that clearly deserve it. In that regard, it has been a very rewarding year. Wow, that is so sappy. But it's true.

I'm thankful for...

- God sending his Son Jesus so that I can have eternal life.
- God sending a wonderful man to be my husband (10 years next June)
- God giving my husband and me a beautiful little girl.
- God giving me strength to persevere through seemingly impossible situations.

I have so much to be thankful for, this could go on forever. But, I know I am nothing without my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He is my rock and foundation and in His sovereignty has allowed trials and blessings to shape me. I do not deserve the grace and mercy He gives me every day!!

Just a few thing God has blessed me with...
His Word
a husband who is way too good to me
2 precious kids
a wonderful church family
friends (I LOVE YA'LL!)
family (okay, I'm thankful for most of my family)
my husband's job
our home
freedom
health
food on the table
our vehicles

Of course you would have to respond! ;) Your response may be, sappy, but it is from the heart and that's all that matters. Thanks for sharing with us Lou. It does indeed sound like you have a lot to be thankful for. :goodvibes
