Search isn't working for me?

Anyone sold their gold recently? Which company did you use and how much did you get ? Were you happy ?

I just sent some off to usgoldbuyers.com, one of the websites that is on that thread. I just had a few broken bracelets, an anklet and some thin gold band rings and chains. A few pair of earrings too. I got 271.00 so I was happy with it. Nothing I sent had much weight to it and most of it was only 10kt. Not bad for stuff so old I couldn't even tell you the last time I wore it. :thumbsup2

This is the company that I used. They were very nice and very fast in paying.
My friend just used them too after I told her about them.

Did you weigh it before you sent it? I'd be curious what they're paying per gram, or however they do it. I have so much stuff that I don't wear and selling it somewhere like ebay is such a pain.

I sent mine last week and I had a couple of braclets, rings, charms not very much. I tried to weight it on my postal scale and it wouldn't register even in ounces so i know it didn't weigh much. I got 211.00. I took it I was very happy and had the money the day after I shipped it.

Am I correct in assuming that I shouldn't send gold rings with diamonds? I sent away for the envelope from cash4gold -- but now I'm thinking I shouldn't do it. I have 2 diamond rings that I want to sell (promise ring and engagement ring from ex).

Do not use Cash4Gold! I used them last year and only got $30 for my stuff. I sent a little bit less into US Goldbuyers in March and got $280. There was another one people were using and getting a bonus for being DIS members, but I can't remember it. Maybe someone else can help or it would be on the original thread.

And yes, take the diamonds out before you send them in because you won't get much if anything for them.

hey  I never read the old thread, but lately I've been thinking about cashing in old broken bracelets (if I haven't thrown them away), but have no idea which companies are reputable.

I'm also interested in what to do with pieces that have gemstones. Send them with the stones? I have a bracelet with sapphires and ring with emeralds and diamonds (I just noticed that I lost one of the emeralds in the past two weeks and have no idea where it would be). None of my jewelry was expensive, 10k with small or lesser quality stones, but if gold is cashing in, I could use the extra cash.

Cash them in ladies!!! I just got back from a local jeweler. I took in some necklaces, bracelets and some old earrings and got $800 cash!!!!

I'm having a great day!!!

I wouldn't send the stones in. They probably just go by the weight of everything and the diamonds should be worth more than the weight of gold. Maybe a local jeweler would take that into consideration. Could you use the diamonds for anything else? Or maybe someone local could just take them out for you. Just my opinion though.
