Where's path between WL and FW?

Exactly where do I access the path at either end? How long is the path? And is it wide and paved or narrow and dirt? Although I love nature, I do have this intense fear of snakes (bad combination sometimes). So has anyone ever seen a snake on this path?

I'm mostly just bumping here.

I honestly don't remember where the path began or ended, I only walked it once, three or four years ago. I *think* it was about a ten minute walk. We were at WL and called down to get directions to the path...we still got turned around trying to find it...I just do not remember where it was. Sorry.

I did not see any snakes. That I would remember!

There are two paths from Wilderness Lodge to Ft. Wilderness Campground they are both approximately 1 mile.

The path that most guest use is paved and used by the bikes to travel between the two resorts. This path follows the service road that connects the resorts, It starts just South of the Bus Stop area and is well marked.

The other trail goes along Bay Lake and is more of a nature trail. This path starts just behind the Teton Boat & Bike Rental then follows around Bay Lake.

Both paths end and the Settlement Depot, near Pioneer Hall/Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue Show.

It's been a while since I was on it, but if I remember correcty it was either part of the original supply railroad to FW, or ran along beside it. . . I don't recall.

Either way I WOULD recall if I had seen a snake or any other frightening creature, and I did not. I hope it is still there, we will be at WL this fall and I would like to see it again.

The only animals I have seen along the trail are deer, armadillos, rabbits and birds. I'm sure there are some snakes in the woods, but I haven't seen them. I usually stick to the paved trail though. The other trail was pretty sandy the one time I tried it, and I hate getting sand in my shoes.

If you turn left at the bus stop and follow the sidewalk, you will come to a road first, and then you will see the paved walkway on the other side of the road. It's about a mile and it's not lit at night, so make sure you give yourself enough time to get all the way across if it's late in the day. We used to walk just before sunset because that's when the deer would be out. We would take the boat to FW and walk back.

Great-thanks! I was especially glad that you mentioned birds, since that's the main reason for my walk. Being a birder, I always have my binocculars and bird book packed, so I thought I'd take a morning to go over to this trail (the paved one).
