Where's National?

We're landing in Orlando tomorrow evening and I've rented a car through National. I've never rented a car before anywhere and I was wondering if someone can tell me exactly where I need to go. I'm traveling with two kids under two so I don't want to be wandering around aimlessly.

Anyway... we are flying out of Newark into Orlando on Continental. After we pick up our bags where do we go? Is the car rental counter near baggage claim?

I joined EA if that makes a difference.

After you get your luggage, head outside and turn left. Proceed down the sidewalk past the ME and Mears busses until you come to a crosswalk heading to the parking garage (there will be signs there). If you go up the escalator, take a right, if you use the elevator,take a left. The National EA and ER aisles are in front of you on the second level of the garage.

Baggage Claim is on level 2 of the airport, so the first thing you have to do is take an elevator or escalator down to level 1 (ground level). Do you have an Emerald Club or Quick Rent reservation? If not, you'll have to stop on level 1 at the counter. If you have Emerald Club, go down to level 1 and exit across from the National counter and cross the street to the garage. Which level of the garage depends on which side of the airport you are on. If you are on A side, National's cars are on level 2 of the garage. If you are on B side, National's cars are on ground level. There are signs pointing the way.

*Edit - Continental is on A side, so you would go up to level 2 in the garage.

I would recommend renting a cart in baggage claim, they are $3.

DebbieB is absolutely correct. I completely forgot that you have to go down one level first. sorry...

Another suggestion, if you are traveling with your spouse and your kids, one of you can go get the car while the rest get your luggage and wait outside by the curb. The one with the car can come around and pick up the other and the kids and the luggage. No dragging around luggage and 2 year olds
