Where's Chef Gordon?

I have sent Chef Gordon two e-mails - one last week and one yesterday - asking to book A Private Affair for our June trip. I haven't gotten a reply from him (I do have his new e-mail address as HHIChef@aol.com). Is there a better way to get in touch with him? Or is he away for some reason? Thought someone here might know. We did A Private Affair when we were at HHI in 2002 and LOVED it! This trip we are celebrating my parents' 40th wedding anniversary and I couldn't think of any better way to do it than with A Private Affair!

What great idea for celebrating your parents' anniversary. If you don't hear from Gordon via email, you can try calling the resort at 843-341-4100 and asking for his extension. You'll probably get his voice mail, but you can leave your message, along with your email address.
 
I think he has an office at the top of the Police Headquarters Building in Gotham City.

FLASH!!! Just this in....

I actually SAW Chef Gordon just last Wednesday at the HH Dis-board meet. He was keeping us all happily supplied with wonderful wines and his great smile. Seemed to be good friends with Disneyholic and Patty---maybe they kidnapped him and took him home and are making him slave away making them personal meals every night. Ya' never know....

In my next life, maybe, LOL!! You know, the one where I can eat whatever I want and don't have to worry about gaining a zillion pounds... :p
 
Heard back from Chef Gordon today - he didn't receive my first e-mail, so it's good I sent another yesterday. Anyway, he is unavailable for A Private Affair during our trip anyway. :sad: I am so disappointed! Now I am wondering if we should change our travel dates to a time when he is available - if that is even possible - this dinner means a lot to us.
 
A private affair. Can someone post more information about this for me, what is it exactly?

I emailed Chef Gordon today about our upcoming trip to HH in April. Unfortunately, he emailed back that A Private Affair would not be available during our trip either!! I am so bummed!!! I hope all is well with Gordon, he is a great guy!
 
I hope all is well with him, too! I e-mailed him back asking what dates in June or July he would be available for A Private Affair and I would change our travel dates - he replied that I shouldn't do that because he couldn't guarantee he'd be available during those times, either! He also promised to let me know if anything in his schedule changes, so I guess that is good. Everyone send some pixie dust my way that something changes and we are able to have A Private Affair during our June HHI trip! I was wanting it so much! :guilty:

Chef Gordon e-mailed me back and indicated he is not currently available the week I will be at Hilton Head. May 21-28.

So from my post, and previous posts, he is not available for several trips in April, May and June. :guilty:

Anyone have any luck booking him recently? I wonder if I try again closer to my trip if I will have better luck. I really wanted to try this. :charac2:

A Private Affair is a dining experience offered at HH by Chef Gordon. He is part of the recreation staff at the resort, but has been a chef for many years. He suggests a "low-country" menu, but will prepare whatever you'd enjoy. The program is offered only on specific evenings and has only one seating (and thus one private group) each night it's offered. It is held at the Beach House overlooking the ocean and is an elegant experience.

Chef Gordon told me he would let me know ASAP if anything in his schedule changed, but I will probably try him again when it gets closer to our trip. I wonder if they are phasing out A Private Affair? I wonder why it is unavailable that often? Has anyone had success in booking this recently? I'm with you, Doug - I really wanted this for our trip to celebrate my parents' anniversary!
 
I will try to book again around April for our May trip.

Maybe the week I was going he is already booked...or, maybe I was just trying too far out. ::yes::

My wife & I live in Illinois and my mom lives in New Jersey, so I was hoping to do this with her when she comes down to S.C.

I was hoping for a nice meal...(while the kids eat at Mickey D's. ::MickeyMo )
 
Has anyone heard from CHef Gordon recently? DH and I will he heading to HH over President's weekend and would like to have a "Private Affair." I e-mailed Chef Gordon last night to see if he would be available. Keep your fingers crossed that he is!!

I'm so glad to see this post. I Emailed Chef Gordon 2 nites ago, but I haven't heard back from him. I thought we had the Private Affair booked for March and wanted to verify. However, I just checked and I'd Emailed to his old address, so I'll resend it to his new one. Has anyone communitcated with him within the last month or have a Private Affair booked with him in the next month or so?
