Where would you work?

Haunted Mansion. I would love tell people to drag their wretched bodies into the dead center of the room. Also the confectionery :stir:

I'd love to be a Disney Imagineer. It would be so much fun coming up with new ways to spread fun and magic, to keep things fresh for everyone. Like, designing different seasonal treats to offer in the confectionary, or CM costume designs for new rides or attractions that will be opening.

VIP tour guide would be great, too. Getting to tell all of Disney's secrets, and show people all of the behind-the-scenes stuff to really blow their mind. I love trivia, especially Disney trivia, so it would be really cool if I got to be around that all day. It wouldn't feel like work.

It would also be cool to be involved with the hiring process, like a Disney headhunter/casting agent (if that's even a thing). I'd be great at interviewing potential cast members.

Monorail pilot, no question about it.

Second choice would be the guy who rides on the back of the parking tram and gives the "welcome to WDW" spiel. Because I like to talk. A lot.

Ride operator on one of the roller coasters (ie., Rock'n'Roller Coaster, Space Mountain, etc). It might get boring, but anyways...that's my vote!:)

I want to be a concierge or front desk employee at the Contemporary. I think it'd be fun to greet guests just arriving & spread magic.

I have a family member who was in the management front office of a WDW hotel for a decade. But when he first started there, he was required to do a rotation of jobs that included a little bit of everything so that he could learn the "ins and outs" of the whole hotel. This included stints at the front desk. His take was:
  • Afternoon to evening shift was great. Everyone he encountered was an arriving guest full of hope and joy. Their vacations were just beginning.
  • Overnight shift was OK. Lots of down time to catch up on financial stuff (which was what his "real job" was).
  • Morning shift was awful. All the guests he encountered had just gotten "the bad news" slid under their door (a/k/a "their final bill). They were all checking out and their vacations were ending. Feelings ranged from anger to depression.

So while greeting guests and spreading the magic is a neat ideal, you'd also have to deal with all the people who swear that they ate nothing from the mini-bar, or that every other item on their bill should be taken off or comped. He said that arriving guests were the nicest people in the world (except for the ones who paid for a "standard view" but expected a "theme park view"). Departing guests were the most miserable sort.

Me? I think that any theme park job would be tiresome after a short stint. I would want to be the sommelier at California Grill and talk wine with a different group of guests every night.

I would love to be one of those people that work the "behind the scenes" of a parade. I guess it's like a stage manager, making sure that all the parades are timed correctly!

I have a Mechanical Engineering degree... I would LOVE to be a Disney Imagineer!!!!
Unfortunately, I am tied to living on our family farm so I doubt it could ever come true, but I have dream about it since before I graduated (25 years ago)!

I want to be one of the Wilderness Explorer troop leaders (the ones in the brown and orange outfits). I'd love to talk to kids (and adults) about animals and conservation all day!

DD wants to be a Jedi at the training academy (she knows she'd have to start out as a Padawan).

I'm a nurse, so First Aid for me. (preferably at Magic Kingdom, if I had the choice)

CEO... I know I could probably do it better than the current occupant.

Yet really no job at WDW. I don't think I would enjoy any of the jobs, just let it be a place I vacation at, I don't want to know the "inner workings

For years I've visualized myself introducing the program at The American Adventure in EP. (Although I liked the Revolutionary War costumes better than the current outfits.:))

We've been retired 2 years and spend Winters 20 min from WDW. I needed the break, but decided to get busy again this Winter. I thought about applying at WDW, but decided instead to begin volunteering at Give Kids the World (can't wait!).

But - if we ever decide to stay in FL year-round, look for me at The American Adventure!

I'd love to be one of the people who decorate the parks, especially for Halloween and Christmas.

A lot of 3rd shift to pull the overnight decorating off, but there's a lot of prep in warehouses...so heat wouldn't be a concern...it almost sounds nice!

Haunted mansion for me! I love disney but I'm not a naturally smily person, so I think the darker atmosphere suits me better. Guess I could do tower of terror as we'll.

My Family talks about this all the time! :thumbsup2

DS15 wants to work with the animals prob at Animal Kingdom.

DS11 wants to be an Imagineer.

DH wants to be an Imagineer as well.

I want to be a Fairy Godmother at the Bibbity Boppity Boutique. The one in the Castle not DTD. :wizard:

My Mom decided we could never move to FL without them so she wants to be a Photopass Photographer & my Step-Father wants to drive the Monorail. :yay:

I would actually love to work as a concierge. I know sometimes it would suck having to deal with the jerks, but I also know I would love to sprinkle the pixie, a little every day! (especially for anyone with a bright green mickey head showing ;))

pixiedust:

The hippo water tank at AK (they are my spirit animal)...or driving the boats would be cool...or the VIP tour guides

You are the palest african tribeswoman I've ever seen in my life. And I've seen a lot of them.

I would be the weirdo in the back planning everybody's appearances, cues and that sort of thing and trembling with glee when a whole day went perfectly.

When DH retires, I want to move to Orlando and sell balloons on Main Street!
party:

I either want to be the Fairy Godmother, be a Jungle Boat skipper, or drive boats from one of the resorts to MK.
