Where would you work?

I hope to volunteer at the Give A Kid The World Village. Since I'll be living close I'm going to make this happen. I think it would be wonderful and so rewarding. The foundation is amazing and to help would be my honor!

There are lots of jobs where the heat would start to get to me but I would like to do one of these three:

1. A driver for the Kilimanjaro Safaris (but not in July and Aug!)

2. Driving the friendship boats from POR/POFQ to DTD

3. Working in the greenhouses at Living with the Land.

If money were no object, I think it would be fun to be a tour guide for the behind the scenes tours, "Keys to the Kingdom", etc. / sharing unique Disney tidbits with Disney enthusiasts. / If I actually moved to Orlando, though, I'd probably work in IT (that's the field that I'm in), and it's reasonably enjoyable and pays a heck of a lot better than most of the tourism industry jobs (would let me have a nicer lifestyle and be able to afford to do all the fund things there are to do in Orlando during my off hours).

I've been a nurse for almost 20 years and my dream Disney job would be (not at the first aide station!!!) running a register (ANY register) on Main Street at MK!! :goodvibes

DH and I have talked at length about this as we want this to be part 2 after we retire. I want to work in Guest Relations. Help people find thing a in the parks, where the potty is, how to get to Astro Orbiters, when is the next parade. I know there is also grumpy pants to that but that's okay.

He wants to be a boat driver. Preferably Sassatuga (sp) River lines but doesn't really care.

This is a topic that is discussed very often at our house, as we actually have very real plans to someday work at WDW. My first choice would be concierge or front desk at any of the ALL STARS or POP. Second choice would be skipper on Jungle Cruise. Third choice would be anywhere at all at EPCOT.
DS24 is currently planning to do his first internship at WDW, possibly beginning in January. DH says he would love to work in electrical maintenance. To be honest, I would be happy just to sweep popcorn off the sidewalk :thumbsup2

Nowhere! lol BTDT as far as working at Disney, it wasn't magical. When I decided to quit I told my supervisor "it turns out I think I make a much better annual passholder, then I do a cast member." He laughed and disagreed with me & told me I was welcome back anytime.

Now I'm no longer living in FL, but even if I was, I'd never work at Disney again.

My husband and I discussed this last trip at Disney. He wants to drive a bus( air conditioned out of the heat) and I want to work in a gift shop at MK when we retire!

I've thought about this a lot because I am praying I Can retire down there (the wife is fighting me as she keeps saying she wants to be near our kids.. well I think that's unrealistic) I've read that a lot of Cast Members don't have a lot of freedom to interact with each other or visitors a lot. There is one area where I have seen where you do get to talk to someone you work with (so find a good partner) and with visitors... working on a boat. I want to drive one of the boats on seven seas, or on the sassgagoula. NOt the big Admiral Joe Fowler from the TTC to MK and back (but i'm told i'll have to do my time on them). I really really want to do this. Like all of you...I really really love Disney and would love to share my love with people who are actually interested...(one would guess that if you are visiting you would be interested <grin>)

I would do anything but housekeeping and food service (I have been doing those jobs at home long enough). Ideally, I would be an old lady riding around Epcot on a Segway giving little kids coupons for ice cream when they drop theirs and answering questions about the best way to get to the American Adventure.

Definitly not a ride operator in It's a Small World!!! I much I as love that ride once or twice in each trip I think I would go crazy with the music 8 hours a day :crazy2:
Would probably love guess relations, help people, find answers for them. I would love to help plan the trips as well. :)

I would choose to be a ride operator for Soarin'. Not only is it my favorite ride but also my favorite uniforms in all the parks. I want to look like a flight attendant!

I'd do anything to work with the dolphins in the Seas. How could you ever have a bad day if you started each day with a smiling dolphin. And if not there, maybe the animal nursery at AK. My DH would either be a giraffe handler at AK or a boat driver anywhere! The fact that he doesn't swim might hold him back a little from that job...lol

I have always said I would want to be one of the Voices of Liberty at the American Experience in Epcot. I just love them! I always wonder how the audition process is for them and have thought about asking one of them after they sing and talk to guests. If I couldn't do that I would want to be one of the VIP tour guides.

My dh is a fire fighter and he would either like to be on the Reedy Creek Fire Dept. or be a Disney bus driver
