Where would you stay?

End of January 2006. We'll be there for a full week. It will just be dd and I. She'll turn 5 that week. We went in November and stayed at Pop Century. I wouldn't mind staying there again, but I like a little variety. That was my first time ever staying onsite.

Now here are the issues:

* I want a fast bus service. Staying at a monorail resort would be nice, but none of the monorail resorts really interest me.

* I don't want to walk miles to get from one point to another within the resort. It's not a problem for me, but dd hates to walk for very long and I'd rather not carry her everywhere or hear her complain endlessly.

* I have never had any sit-down meals at WDW, so I won't know what I'm missing. Counter service is okay.

* Nice pool would be good. DD was a fish in a former life.

* The hotels that interest me the most are POR, POFQ, WL and BWI. I'm up for any other options however.

Ummm...I think that's it. There are so many resorts to choose from that it can get very confusing, lol.

TIA!

The POFQ sounds like it would be a nice choice for you. They have a great food court, and it's smaller than the other moderate hotels. It does share a bus with the POR, but it stops at the POFQ first, so you shouldn't have a problem getting a seat. Some people complain about the stops at POR, but it's a pretty quick route, and only adds a few minutes to your commute. Your daughter will love the pool there--it's very whimsical. It has a cool slide, too.

Even though it's not on your list I'd recommend the Dolphin! The bus stop and fantastic Grotto pool are just a short walk either direction. Tubbies serves great counter service food, at reasonable prices! The Dolphin Fountain is also pretty reasonable and they have great onion rings and burgers!

You can take the boat to either MGM or Epcot! And, the Boardwalk is just a short walk away. That's a fun place to spend an evening, watching the street performers and playing carnival games!

Another vote for POFQ. We loved it with our 4 yr old. I think buildings 4 & 5 are closest to the food court and there's also a short path from them to the bus stop. The pool is conveniently located in the center of all the buildings, and the slide is not too big for little ones. The resort is very easy to get around, perfect with small kids who are too old for a stroller. Good luck choosing.

To the Op.

I don't really have any suggestions since I haven't stayed yet. I am going for my honeymoon.

I just wanted to say that your post was very cute lol.

POFQ - just based on the size of the resort alone. It's "small" and has a terrific pool.

I have always told my dd that I would take her on a mommy/daughter trip on her 5th b-day. She tells everyone she is going to DW when she is 5. She is 3 now. She will turn 5 in July of 2006. I always thought the BC would be a great choice for that trip. The pool of course is a big consideration and you can't beat SAB imo. I was also thinking that the walk to the internation gateway would suite if we wanted to do the psb in Norway one morning. It is neat that some else has the same idea. Hey, whatever gets me another trip to the World!! Do you think my ds-4.5 will feel cheated? :confused3
