When we were there last September it was definitely open much later than that. We were in that area probably closer to 8 at night and kids were still running around in it. Maybe it depends on the time of year or is a new thing? I can't imagine in the summer that it would close that early. :confused3

I am going to call in-house reservations to clarify times on Monday. 5:00 seems really early and a deal breaker for sure.

We were there March 23rd. Maybe the time of year makes a difference. I would certainly call and check. The hours may be longer now.

:thanks:

One bed? Can't even think about it then. :rotfl2:

I will email my friend today. :goodvibes Good luck. Please keep me posted too

We don't take our kids to DL so I forgot all about the one bed guarantee with Priceline. My boys are almost 17 and 21 and DL is "not their thing". :scared1: (But we are going to try a family trip in the fall of 2011 as a graduation trip. Had to bribe him with a couple nights at Laguna Beach. )

Thanks for checking with your friend. I found another guy selling points who seemed very reliable but he charges $12/pt. plus 3% service fee. :goodvibes

Priceline says it only guarantees 1 bed for 2 adults but we have never had a problem. I normally call the hotel right after I win the bid and request a 2 bed room.

Can he book the GCV at 11 months? If not, his price is high seems high.

If I put in more than 2 people, they kinds have give me two beds don't they? :upsidedow

You don't bid with number of people just number of rooms. That is why priceline is so adamant about only guaranteeing one bed for 2 adults. I would say it would be a slight risk that you would not get a room with 2 beds, but I have never had that issue. That being said, I haven't used PL for DL because we travel with my mother and have to stay somewhere with a 1 BR suite.

Me too ~ with our 2 priceline stays last year at the Crowne Plaza I called the hotel right after my winning bid, requested 2 beds and that's what we got both times....

That makes sense.

:thanks: I mean what would the hotel do when I show up with my kids in tow, deny us especially if I call like you do? I can't imagine it being a real issue but I guess you never know. :confused3

Just wanted you to know that they only guarantee one bed. ;)

I will keep looking for DVC. We are looking to book for October so hopefully we have time.

Are you wanting a Studio? I can call Monday and see if they are available if you give me your dates. :teeth: And because you are 6 months out, look for someone who is a little desperate to get rid of their points. ;)

And I still haven't decided where to stay. :lmao: And now I am thinking I need a place for 6/18. I want to stay that Friday night so badly, I can taste it.

Yes, we're looking for a studio for 10/10 - 10/15. Do you now someone who is renting their points? :flower3:

Finding someone to rent isn't the issue- that will be easy- I will help you. Have you had any emails back from the people you contacted? Availability is the issue. I can call Monday then PM you if they have a Studio. If there isn't a Studio then you go on a wait list. :hyper: My friend is on a wait list for a Studio for 6/14 and 6/15 and it doesn't look good. Now October isn't high season so you might be in luck.

Do it! But you've got to decide where to stay first. ;)

:rotfl2: I know, right. Even after I decide, trying to convince DH to move on the tail end of the trip will be even a bigger hurdle to jump. The first night is no biggie as it's for a whole 11 hours- stuff won't be unpacked etc. But moving to add a night is a pain. But I want to stay sooooo badly that Friday night.

I would really appreciate if you would check on those dates. :worship: I heard back from one guy and he charges $12/pt. plus a 3% service fee. That seems a little steep but will do it if that's all I can find.

One of our trips, we stayed one night at a hotel in Ontario to visit family, one night at the Crowne Plaza and the rest of the time at Hyatt Regency. All because I wanted to stay an extra day so I totally understand! :thumbsup2

Another site you should check out is TripDucky.com - they are very similar to BettingBidding and BFT but they have a couple of unique tools the others don't. They have a calendar feature that shows you what others have won and on what days they are staying as well as listing the won hotels and prices. Also, another feature I like is that they can generate a rebid chart for you (technique used to bid multiple time without having to wait 24 hours). And finally they actually have some very good tutorials to show you how everything works for those of you ;-) that aren't familiar with how it all works...

As a matter of fact, I used them not too long ago and got the Crowne Plaza (3.5*) for $39/night. Although they do have a $12 parking fee but you pay this no matter if you book via PL or through them directly. I believe the regular listed price on their website was about $99/night so a pretty good savings.

I just did a quick search on TripDucky and see where someone won the Crowne Plaza on June 12 for $46/night and someone else won the Doubletree Anaheim (also 3.5*) for $41/night on the 13th.

Also, just another tip - if you do bid via Priceline - they only guarantee a room for double occupancy so if you win a room via them you will want to call the hotel directly and request a room with more than one bed if so desired. We had 4 of us when we went and my gf just called ahead and asked for a room with 2 doubles and the hotel was very nice in accomodating us. I have read stories where others aren't so lucky so just beware of that.

Hope this was of some help...

I will check first thing Monday- they are closed the weekend. :)

:thanks: for the tips! I cannot imagine not having 2 beds. It would be a disaster as far as hotel rooms go. ;)
