We are hoping to be members in time to book a one night reservation using points for the night before we go on our first cruise. We are thinking we will just stay at the resort and not do a park given the short time. Any suggestions on which DVC you would stay for just one night and what you would do there that evening for fun? We'll have our two little ones with us :)

Depending on the age of your kids, I would opt for Beach Club Villas/Boardwalk Villas or Saratoga Springs.

If your kids are really little, SSR has a nice zero entry pool, and you can walk over to DTD from the resort. I love DTD, because you can eat, shop and even go to the movies if you choose. It's one of my favorite places to visit when at Disney. :goodvibes

If your kids are a little older, the Boardwalk area is really neat. BCV is known for its pool (Stormalong Bay), and my kids loved the pool at BWV. Plus, you have everything right at the BW. There are several restaurants, and you can see the fireworks from Epcot.

I also agree with Echo above.

My almost 6 yr old has always gone with us to SSR. In June, he went to OKW with relatives and when he got back, he said he missed the pool/waterslide at "our" resort.

The pool and the waterplay area (Grandstand area) is AWESOME.

For one night without parks, I would pick AKV. For the animals, and for the things that the children can do! We're heading there for one night after our DCL cruise next May! We will be at Kidani then!

I've not had the DGC with us at AKV YET, but I've seen children having fun with CM's at different times of the day around the resort. We were there one evening and there was a Kid's parade around the lobby. It looked like everyone was having fun, the kids and all of the parents taking pictures!:goodvibes
