Where would you split stay??

I was unable to snag a two bedroom at AKV this morning at the 7 month window. We already have the last 5 nights booked at AKV but 2 contracts with different home resorts and was hoping to get the first 4 nights this morning and couldn't, so now needing to consider a split stay. Would you stay at OKW or SSR? We will have 3 adults, and 4 kids ages 9, 7, 4 and an infant. Is it typically difficult to get 2 bedrooms at 7 months out or is it mainly because Nov is popular time? Thanks! We love AKV especially for the pool for our kids, so I'm super bummed to have to divide the trip.

My opinion is SSR because it has been refurbished. Our only stay at OKW was in a studio, however, and we were NOT impressed. I have heard the larger rooms are much nicer. The OKW room was really run down. That trip we split with SSR and were much happier at SSR.

I'd go with SSR for the elevators (only a few of the OKW buildings have them). I would also waitlist AKV and keep stalking. AKV (Kidani) is usually pretty easy to get at 7 months because it's so huge. Jambo is much harder as all the 2BR's are lock offs.

I haven't stayed at either but I've heard good things about SSR from family and friends and I really like the idea of being able to walk to Disney Springs. Please anyone correct me but I don't think anywhere is walkable from OKW?

Did you waitlist AKV? I’d do that ASAP.

I’d go with SSR because it has been refurbed more recently than OKW and SSR did a really nice job!

OKW is set to begin its ‘semi- hard goods refurb’ this year though. I’m just not sure if it worth the chance of getting one. Not even sure they’ve started? But they likely won’t be done by Nov so no guarantee on what your room will be.

Technically you can walk to DS from OKW via SSR but you might want to pack a snack, it’s a haul.

We run between SSR and OKW so we’re familiar with the path. Once we hopped on an OKW bus from a park because it was a mess of a line for SSR. A mousekeeper picked us up on her golf cart while we were on the walking path and dropped us off right at our building!

Were you trying for Jambo or Kidani? Jambo is much smaller, all of Jambo’s 2 br.s are lock offs - so when the studios get booked the 2 br.s aren’t available & this November Jambo will be in the midst of their refurb., so the villa count will be lower than normal.
If you were trying for Kidani - there are 4 types of 2 br. options - savanna view dedicated, sv lock off, resort view dedicated, rv lock off - I’d book SSR & waitlist whichever view/configuration I already had + one of the others - so even if one didn’t match what I already had, at least I wouldn’t have to move resorts if the waitlist filled & replaced the SSR booking. Also, I’d stalk both Kidani & Jambo a couple of times a day just in case something popped up.
