Where would you go for $10,000

Domestic - rent an RV and just drive. Probably west. I want to see the Black Hills, Wyoming, Western MT, etc. Probably go all the way to San Fran.

International - first stop in Ireland. Then head to Scandanavia and check out all my ancestral homes....

I have already been alot of places. I would choose the Maldives that each island is its own resort. Just gorgeous. The flight times from here are a killer though.
One of my co-workers went to the Maldives on her honeymoon. Just from her pictures it looks amazing! She's from Taiwan, so she flew in & out of the Maldives through Taiwan.

I'd love to go to Australia & New Zealand, although as a PP said $10K wouldn't cover that trip for more than 1 person, maybe 2 people if you go budget.

If I had $10K to spend on a vacation, I'd probably do a nice trip to Italy or France. I've been to both (went all over Europe after college - for MUCH less than $10K!) but DP hasn't been to either and really wants to go.

Hi E :wave:

New Zeland for me. Cruise/tour

Italy for sure -- it's always been a dream.

But I'd add on either a trip to Austria or to the Jungfrau region of Switzerland. What can I say, maybe I had a little too much exposure to The Sound of Music. ;)

I would go back to Alaska in a minute but stay longer and explore more areas.

Grand Canyon and Nat'l Parks also on my list.

Italy, Ireland, England, Scotland and Germany.

Actually there aren't many places I wouldnt like to visit!:rotfl:

I'm the same way, I'd go almost anywhere I haven't been to before. Heck, even if I have been before there's a 99.9% chance I'd go again if given the opportunity. I just love to travel.

To add to my other post, I'd love to see more of the western half of the US, including the Grand Canyon. I've been to San Francisco a couple of times, and to LA very briefly, but never to anywhere else in the West. Also would love to go to Alaska!

Clearly I just need to become independently wealthy so I can spend my time traveling instead of working. :rotfl:

I would want to travel to all the farthest points of the US, coast to coast and North and South.

If I had $10K for a trip, I would either go to Europe - Paris, London, Rome - or Tour the USA from coast to coast, I would like to visit each state.

If I could rent an RV for 1/2 of the money I would do that and travel to as many places across the country as I could. Kind of like the movie RV, minus the "working on the side" part. In my fantasy world, we would have enough money to last the whole summer together.

I'd take another Meditarrean cruise, but longer this time.

International:
1, England, Italy or Spain with the family-we're in the process of planning this type of trip for 2012 or 2013 :thumbsup2 yep, we're saving for this trip SORRY;

2. Mexico/Central America-Mayan Ruins tour with Costa Rica thrown it.

3. Caribbean Resort like Cooper Island, St. Maarten, Virgin Gorda for a week-just my DH & I for some couple without kid time :lmao:

US:
1. California Wine Country tour with San Francisco, California redwoods & LucasFilm Studio tour just to satisfy the Star Wars fan in me;

2. tour all the amusement parks in the East Coast (dream of my DDs & DH);

3. a weekend in NYC staying at Essex House seeing a couple of Broadway shows, eating at famous restaurants and a shopping spree.

We've did one of our Bucket List trips this past March/April - GALAPAGOS, it's going to be hard to top that one for a while :rotfl:

With $10k, I'd do an around-the-world cruise... get to stop and see several places that way.

I would love to visit Thailand (Phuket, Korat, and Bangkok), but I would need more than $10k since I would want to stay 2 or 3 weeks. I'm just in awe of the temples, beaches, and jungles. I would love to visit India too, but I'm not sure what the travel safety is like for India.

New Zealand or a private sailboat that stops at all of the British Virgin Islands;)

Italy, Sicily and Greece, or,

Australia and New Zealand, or

An East Coast trip, driving and seeing as much as possible!
