I had to move our trip a couple months, so now it lands on my birthday, and I was put in charge of finding my birthday dinner, but I don't know where. :confused3

We will be at Epcot that day, and I have an ADR at Le Cellier, because, it's IN Epcot, I like steak, and I don't know where any of these other places are! Okay, I sort of know their location based on description, but I'm flying blind here people! My choices being-

*Yachtsman Steakhouse -or-
*Narcoossee's
*Maybe somewhere else?

Thoughts? Opinions? Warnings of impending doom?

Yachtsman is at Yacht Club...which is one of the deluxe hotels right there at Epcot...super easy to get to if you are already going to be in Epcot. Its a signature restraunt and I have heard AMAZING things about it.

Nacroosees is at Grand Floridian...also a signature restraunt. Never eaten there but have read many reviews...sounds good.

Le Cellier...gets all sorts of good & bad reviews on here, just like any place would.

You can type in one of the places and you will find all sorts of people who have done dining reviews and see pics of the food.

I've also read great reviews of The Wave, California Grill, Artists Point, Jiko (all at resorts), but there are also lots of great places right there at Epcot.

California Grill. We went there for my sister's birthday and everything was wonderful.

I would go to the Cape May Seafood Buffet and Clam Bake on the night they were having fried shrimp. The rest of my family loves crab legs so to have all they can eat crab legs would be a good experience for them. It may not be a fancy signature restaurant but at over $30 per person to eat I would say it is decent.

I knew Yachtsman was in the Yacht Club resort, but I did not know it was close to Epcot! That is very helpful information. :) I have read some reviews, and the menu looks good to me, although I admit to being a lazy eater- I'm not trying to go all over creation to find a birthday dinner when I'm going to be in Epcot. Proximity is key!

I have heard good things about the California Grill. It could go on the short list.

I like seafood, but I don't do buffets well. I worked in one as a teenager and that was enough. But seafood is yummy.

This will be me to!!:cool1:,my B-day Is on the 20th,the night of MNSSHP. It looks like we will be eatting at Pecos Bill for Dinnier, but i will do something special the night before and after. The 19th we are eatting at Yachtmans and the day after at the Biergarten. Anyways we always make it a point to eat at Pecos at least once a trip,we love it there.:goodvibes

The Coral Reef Cafe has good food and a great atmosphere at The Seas with Nemo and Friends. All the fish in the reef tank will be celebrating with you!

Chefs de France is a personal favorite but it may be too loud for a birthday dinner.

At Boardwalk, you could go to Flying Fish, great food, fun atmosphere but $$$. It'll be a good, fun dinner just a short walk or Friendship from Epcot.

Also Couzzina, also at Boardwalk, offers great Greek inspired Cat Cora food. They are extremely accommodating and would be a fun bday dinner. Although it can get loud.

Signatures such as Yachtsman, Narcoossees, Cali Grill, and (dinner only) Le Cellier tend to have better food, higher end service, and higher end prices to match. If you are on a Dining Plan they are 2 credits rather than 1. If you want steak and will be in Epcot that day, you can stay there to eat at Le Cellier or you can easily go to Yachtsman. YC/BC is one of the Epcot area resorts. Epcot has a 'side gate' at the International Bridge (between England and France). From there you can get a boat to YC/BC or you can walk; it's about 10 minutes. Even if you don't have Park Hopper tickets, you can exit and re-enter the same park the same day on your single admission.

Most other 1-TS credit restaurants serve at least 1 steak dish, though; you may just need to spend some quality time with the menus over at allears.net to help you pick.

Ohana is a popular 1-TS option, although the travel time is a bit longer because it's at the Poly. You would take the monorail from Epcot to the TTC, then get on the other monorail for the MK resort loop. At Ohana they bring the food to you but it's somewhat like a Brazilian steakhouse concept: appetizers, side items, and dessert are brought to the table in large (and endlessly refillable) bowls. The 4 meats are steak, shrimp, roast pork, and chicken. All are grilled on skewers. Servers circulate through the dining room offering you as much as you want of whichever one(s) you like. As a bonus, you can see the MK fireworks from most of the restaurant if you happen to be there then.

A nice quiet place is good, too loud and it overwhelms my DH. Especially while eating.

I love Via Napole in Epcot - the food is wonderful!

I will check out their menu!

No dining plan, not too worried about food cost, I know it will be high. I sort of expect it I guess? I mean, it's a tourist spot. Let the price gouging commence!

I do believe we have an O'hana ADR sometime that week, so it's not on my list for birthday food. We will have park hoppers, but we will have been at Epcot all day that day anyhow. Thanks for your help and input!

Well with the criteria you gave (steak fan and want proximity to Epcot) here are your top options.

Shula's
Le Cellier
Yatchman's
Flying Fish
bluezoo
Big River Grille & Brew works
Captain's Grille

Obviously this order depends on your preferences. Also, most of these are either at the Boardwalk or one of the Epcot resorts. I have never been there but Flying Fish gets very good reviews usually. It is down the list some because it is primarily seafood with some red meat on the menu.

Last year I ate at Emeril's Tchoup Chop over at Universal for my Birthday. It was a great meal, and a wonderful property to walk around afterwords.

 Lovely list that didn't at all make my choice harder. I would like to stay close or in Epcot (this is indeed based on my impatience).

We are staying on property and not renting a car, so I won't make it over that way this time. I'm letting Disney keep me captive for our first trip! ;)

If I could only pick one place to eat at it & it was for my birthday I'd pick LeCellier. I fall in the group that loves it! Everytime we go to Disney we try more new places but so far it still holds first place for me.

A you like steak and will be in Epcot that day then my choice would be to walk out the back entrance of Epcot (International gateway) along the lit pathway less than a 10 minute walk alongside the water to the Yachtsman Steakhouse which is in the Yacht Club resort. The Yacht club is across the water from The Boardwalk and if you have not been to this area before I think you would enjoy seeing it as it really is very pretty.

For steak Shula's is the best on property and a short walk from Epcot.

I was in WDW earlier this year for my birthday. I had my dinner at California Grill. Super yummy!

Flying Fish has an amazing signature steak entree even though they're primarily a seafood restaurant. The food there is excellent! The other signature dish, the potato wrapped snapper, is delicious. Hope you have a great birthday dinner!

I went to Le Cellier for my birthday last year and was not disappointed. I also had dinner at Yachtsman that trip and loved it - If you want to be in a park go for Le Cellier if you don't mind going outside than Yachtsman.

Please note though my birthday dinner was before Le Cellier was signature so not sure how the dinner menu has changed since.
